Your partner finds you staring at the washing machine.

* * *

You didn’t know how long you had been sat, watching the washing machine spin round, and round, and round. You must have zoned out. But your thoughts were interrupted by your partner, sitting next to you. “What is it about things that spin that capture our attention?”

Their question felt innocuous. But you never could be sure. “It’s the repetitive motion, right?” You said.

They bit their lip, thinking, before gesturing back to the washing machine. “Sure. But I guess I should have asked why do they capture your attention so easily, toy?”

You opened your mouth to respond, but they pressed a finger to your lips, interrupting your thoughts. “Because when I came in here, you had been staring for quite a while. Letting your thoughts spin round, and round. Maybe you were picturing your own thoughts in there?”

In that moment, you could feel your mind getting spun, and soaked, and rinsed in the machine. Thoughts washed away. “And each spin just wipes your mind more, and more, and more. All the soap making your mind so clean. So empty. So ready for me to take control…”

They had put their hand on the back of your head, holding your gaze on the door of the washing machine. “Just letting your thoughts get washed away. Letting your mind open up to me. So blank. So obedient. Maybe you just wanted some brainwashing. Is that it, toy?”
