Your partner uses imagery to sink you beneath the surface of trance.

* * *

“I love a lake on a cold winter’s morning, sweetness. The way the mist hangs over the smooth, still surface. Can you picture that, in your mind?” Your partner’s request hung in the air between you, as you pictured the lake, and nodded for them to continue.

“The soft sunlight through the mist, the cool stillness in the air. Silence. Just like your mind, in this moment. Quiet. Still.” They paused for a moment, letting you bask in the image they had created. “And then there’s my voice. A rock that’s been dropped into the lake.”

You felt almost unsteadied, and were glad for the chair beneath you as they kept talking. “A rock, sinking into the waters underneath the surface. Breaking the stillness. My words filling the cool quiet waters of your mind. Feel me sinking deeper into your thoughts, my love.”

“But unlike the lake on a cold winter’s morning, your mind has no bottom to it.” Another pause, behind your closed eyes, you were drifting deeper. “My words, my voice can just sink deeper, pulling you deeper and deeper into trance with it.”

They were closer now. “My voice like a stone, dragging you down towards the depths of your mind. Keep sinking for me toy. Sink deeper, and deeper. You started this journey at a lake on a cold winter’s morning, who knows where you’ll be when you resurface, with me?”
