Christmas angler fish (Patreon)

This came from a conversation I had with some kinky folks, and was just too good not to write down.

“Hey, sweetie, see my Santa hat? It’s got a special feature! If I press this bit here…” Your partner reached up and pressed a small tag at the brim of the hat. “There we go. The end lights up! And it’s so pretty, isn’t it? So very pretty. So easy to watch.”

It was nice. A soft golden glow, coming from the ball at the end of their hat. They nodded, and kept on talking. “But you’ve got to be careful, around pretty lights.” You looked away from the light for a second, and they smiled.  “Awh, you look confused. Let me explain it.”

They waved the end of their hat back and forth, the light moving with the motion. “You just keep watching the light, and I’ll tell you why you should be careful.” Your eyes locked on to the light as their tone changed, dropping into their hypnotic patter.

“This is going to be a bit of biology, sweetie. Do you know that certain species of deep sea fish use lures  to draw in prey?” You nodded. “Well, one of those lures can be a pretty little light. Which the prey will just watch, drawn closer, not realising what’s really happening until it’s too late.”

You weren’t really paying attention to their words anymore. “Until they’re hanging on every motion of the light. Dancing, following along, until they… Drop.” They pulled the hat off, and your mind followed it down. “And then they’re caught. Just like I’ve caught you, sweetie.”
