Your partner laid a trap on your computer for you to find. And now they've discovered you, after you got caught.

“Awh, honey, what’s gone wrong?” Your partner laughed at you, stuck, staring, unable to take your gaze away from the spiral on your computer monitor. “Did I leave a little trap for you on your computer? Had I planted a few triggers in your brain to get you stuck?”

You couldn’t respond. You were barely processing their words. All of your focus was on the spinning black and white pinwheel, spiralling around, and around, and around on your screen. Words kept flashing up. ‘Drop’ ‘Sink’ ‘Deeper’, among others.

Each one that appeared pulled you a little deeper, emptied your thoughts a little more. Your partner laughed again, and you felt their hand on your back, as they stepped up behind you, as you sat in your chair. “I know, it’s mean, but you agreed to this.”

They squeezed your shoulder gently. “Even if I did make you forget. But that’s okay. You forget so many things. How to think. Your own name. You let all of those silly ideas in your head float away so easily. I just thought I’d let you sink into mindlessness for a while.”

Their arm reached past you, grabbing your headphones. “And, well, now I’ve got you like this, it would be rude to not use you, right? But I need to do something, so, well… I prepared this for you.” They put your headphones on your head, and pressed the spacebar.

Your mind filled with their recorded voice, pumping in through the headphones. “Hey babe, I bet my spiral’s got you nice and deep by now. So I’m just going to give you a few mantras, for when we play later. Once I’m done what I’m doing, I’ll find you. And you’ll be ready for me.”
