Your hypnotist has you writing lines to help your new mantra sink in.
* * *
“Repetition is important, puppet. Do you know why?”
Your hand moved, pen over paper. I am a good puppet. Good puppets obey.
Your hypnotist waited before speaking again. “It serves as a reminder. It makes things sink in.”
Another line. I am a good puppet. Good puppets obey.
“So, what I’m doing, by making you write out those words, every time, is making sure they’re stuck in your mind.” They said, leaning over the table. “Of course, it works even better when I’ve got you entranced to keep on writing them.”
I am a good puppet. Good puppets obey. The only words in your head. The only words on the paper.
“An empty head is a fertile breeding ground for lots of things. But a mantra? That’s an especially good thing to plant.” They smiled. “Because the words can start to fill up your mind.”
They were watching you intently, as your hand kept moving. I am a good puppet. Good puppets obey.
“Like a liquid, they’ll fill the empty vessel of your brain, until the only thing that can exist is them, and by extension, my control.” The words felt so good to write.
I am a good puppet. Good puppets obey. You were nearly finished with the page.
“Which is good. I know how much you love my control. I can see you’re nearly done with the page. And once you’re done with it, when there’s no more space in that mind, you won’t be done.”
They paused. “Oh, no. Not done at all. But you won’t be writing the words.”
I am a good puppet. Good puppets obey.
“You’ll be saying them. Words flowing from your mind into your mouth. What are the words, puppet?”
You opened your mouth. “I am a good puppet. Good puppets obey.”
