Eid Mubarak to all my Muslim friends and followers!

Now for something exciting, I'm happy to announce a grand story project I've just started working on!

Inspired by real-world tensions and speculative geopolitics, this future-set story imagines a fractured Europe, isolated and divided into spheres of influence. The U.S. doesn't stop at Greenland, Russia expands deep into Eastern Europe and Saudi Arabia, China, and Japan each get their own slices of the continent.

And as a little teaser... here’s a first glimpse of one of New Al-Andalus' newest citizens (Spain) and Novaya Baltika (Scandinavia)

Out of respect for ongoing real-world tragedies, current war zones will not be mentioned or depicted directly in the story. I sincerely hope for a peaceful and just resolution to all conflicts 🕊️

I think you know the things I enjoy but I love when people find happiness being what they once loathed. Rap fan becomes metalhead for one, MAGA wife ends up going Muslim things like that. Just some examples

That would be fun! The idea though is that the US and Russia divide Europe into areas of influence but maybe I could make it work with some other nationality!

This is why I mentioned the British/Russian divide. Someone utterly distinct from Russia and almost repulsively spectating on the country as some kind of cultural event suddenly ending up right in the middle of it. Karmic.

Hmm, not really a TF I could fit in this story. The idea here is that Europe gets divided into foreign areas of influence and influenced by them, not the other way around

This is an interesting tendency I note in your writing, potentially attached to an libidinal rationalisation for real demographic change. I tend toward the opposite.

You're spot on. "libidinal rationalisation" is a good expression. I will also try to write a story in the opposite direction in the future but this story is like that.
