Self Portrait - Jasper National Park - Part 2 (Patreon)
Content
Hello!
So excited to share my second part of my trip to Jasper National Park. There is actually one more set after this as well! There was so much beauty to be uncovered there.
This place is striking. This was my second day there. My second night in my little car camping, my second day of getting up and going into the coffee shop. I got really good at brushing my teeth, face, etc in these little bathrooms too haha. They did have some amazing public restrooms in this area, because of all the campers! That was extremely helpful.
My sleeping schedule was so crazy and whacked while I was here too. It was summer, and I've never been this far north in the summer. Jasper is settled in Alberta, and fairly far north (5 hours I believe from Calgary.) It didn't get dark until 11pm. I was insanely shocked the day before, because when I'm shooting like this, the day can really get away from me. You're moving around a lot, taking breaks, and honestly just having so much fun (and you know what they say about time when you're having fun haha.) So I would scramble at the end of each day hoping for somewhere to still be open for food, etc, and then not fall asleep until 1 or 2am because my internal clock was really messed up.
So yeah! I loved the long days, but they really did a number on me, haha.
This day the weather was my favorite for shooting, slightly overcast, but warm. I really explored so many amazing areas of the park this day, and a lot of them I found just by pulling over and wandering a trail or just a pull off. You do have to be careful wandering here, there are lots of bears and moose! I saw both this day, thankfully at a distance.
I really love Jasper. Nowhere in the world has put so much admiration in my heart for the landscape. I was constantly in awe. I felt small and human. I felt one with the earth. I could stay there for the rest of my life. I even asked a lot of the workers in the town, how they work, etc, haha. I mean, I could be Canadian.
Everything in Jasper is wonderful. I took a lot of landscapes this day as well, and I definitely think everyone should look into this place. It was the most fun I had on my trip honestly. Alberta is really cool, and totally my speed. I even loved Edmonton and Calgary on my visit. Everyone was kind, and I would love to visit again soon.
I have one more set from here to share with you, so I'll save a little bit of my nature rants, haha.
Thank you everyone! I hope you enjoy this set
