Self Portrait - Theodoore Roosevelt National Park - (Patreon)

Hello everyone!
I hope you are well. This is the last month of my self portrait series from this TOUR! Woah! I love seeing all of them together now. I then start putting out my desert tour series which is absolutely AMAZING.
I am so excited to show you more of the world, and the only deserts I visited on my previous tour were Utah. The next ones will be featuring spots in Nevada, California, Arizona and New Mexico.
The last few sets this month will be from beautiful Theodoore Roosevelt National Park, in North Dakota. Teddy actually lived in this park for a while, and since he is the father of National Parks, it seems to make sense! I think it fits perfectly with what we as future people know of his personality, and I personally would be honored to be named after this park.
I feel like most people have never even heard of this place. North Dakota? Why would you go to North Dakota? Because it's god damn beautiful. I have never seen so many colors within each other, from the greenest prairies nestled up against brown and red mud formations mimicking volcanoes from the earth. Golden pastures lay under tan rock with emerald tops. The sun felt warm, but not hot underneath the dense clouds of this rugged landscape. The air smelled of earth, the sweet kind, the freshest grass and wet soil. What a midwest paradise. Cowboy country. Wilderness in a pristine sense.
There are very little tourists in this National Park, and I even ventured to some national forests right outside the park, so this entire area is just gorgeous. You are definitely in the middle of nowhere. The town only had one gas station, and one small saloon (which I had the pleasure of venturing to, and watching the locals do karaoke, it was one of the highlights of my trip!) It made me feel like I was really on an adventure to be honest! haha.
I came across this spot wandering through these vast open plains, and even climbing over a few of these gorgeous hills (the one that weren't slippery from the rain which I sat dormant in for the first few days.) I got a lot of ticks this day wandering through all of this grass, and you have to be careful for bison and even wild horses when going off trail. I did get to see a lot of bison and wild horses, thankfully not on this day and from a safe distance. There are also coyotes (only heard, never seen haha), and PRAIRIE DOGS. Which are insanely cute, and even if you get pretty close to them, they won't attack you (I attempted some photos of a few but they're fast to go into their holes and the whole lot will scream you out of their HUGE areas pretty fast haha.) Their fleas can give you the bubonic plague though, so there's that. Oh and I even saw some antelopes near a watering hole on another part of the park! I am giving all the good details away on this post haha.
In other words, this place is gorgeous and honestly SO fun. I had such an incredible time and I feel like this set really shows how in love with the landscape I was. I can't wait to share more with you!
