Hello everyone!

It's May already and I have some new self portraits for ya'll!

This beautiful set is from the rugged landscape of western Nevada, touching the California line, and from Valley of Fire State Park right outside of Las Vegas. I mixed two together because I just love all of the landscape and thought it flowed well almost as a mini story.

I love how warm it is in Nevada in October. When everywhere else is starting to aquire a chill, Nevada is cooling down to the low 90's, and for me, that is absolutely perfect weather.

I got to wander so much of this beautiful state on this mini tour. Valley of Fire is one of my favorite parks I've ever been too. The entire thing is a collage of every desert you can find surrounding it. You have towering rocks formed into castles of nature, flat dirt lands for miles, and beautiful colored rocks. It is one of my favorite places to explore, I find something different every time I go there. On this trip I actually went to the park three times haha. So I have tons of shots from this beautiful place!

The flatter location is off of a small highway out in the middle of nowhere in western Nevada. I love that this part of the country, locations like this are fairly accessible and you're not doing anything weird, because there's no one to watch you haha. Except, I was actually traveling with two friends of mine on this leg of the trip, so there was haha. It was nice to travel with some people I already knew, and we took lots of photos and had a lot of fun. I appreciate them helping me out with this part of my trip, and I got so much work from it!

This area is really gorgeous though. Canyons, big and small, the ground is so hard it can cut your feet, but I love the way it looks during a sunset. The desert is my favorite place, I feel truly one with nature in these elements. Don't get me wrong, I love huge snowy mountains and big trees, but there's something about the smell of dust, mixed with desert plants. I love how vast and open, but enclosed you feel. It reminds me that the world is dangerous, wild, and nature has so many shapes and forms in order to survive. The desert is rough, but delicate. I appreciate those elements and it gives me a lot to ponder.

I hope you love this set. I can't wait to show you more beautiful deserts.
