Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is well. I've been in New England all weekend shooting! I'll be here for a few more days until I head back to Pittsburgh.
I have gotten so lucky with the weather! I love a good indian summer. It's been pretty fall weather the entire time I've been in New Hampshire, and I even got to see the leaves before they fell. New England in the fall is best. Isn't there any entire Family Guy episode about it? haha.
I have mostly been just working, shooting, and reading the new Elizabeth Gilbert book (she wrote eat, pray, love) it's called "Big Magic" and I highly recommend it to anyone who is wanting a creative life but isn't sure where to start! Or if you would just like to read something that makes you feel good.
So the set I am posting today is a very recent one by Torre and I. Torre recently got a digital camera, because he wants to be able to make his work a little bit more dynamic, and because shooting film is just sort of impractical sometimes. He is still shooting lots of polaroids, but he's really into his new toy haha.
Shooting with your partner is amazing. I feel extremely blessed to have another creative soul with me. I have been in only a few relationships in my life, but they have always been with someone who was creative in their own ways, but was not nearly as dedicated or excited about creativity as me. Torre makes me work harder than anyone else ever has, and I'm so grateful.
It's not all love eyes and nonsense though. There comes a very strange sense of honesty with you're in a creative relationship, it's nice and helpful, but sometimes we get on eachother's nerves and may even hurt eachother's feelings with our creative downslides. But the end result, creating something together makes it all worth it. Because it is your own, and you do start to realize that you work with eachother in a way you don't work with other people. So even if the shoot involves some tears because he told me to "move my arm" in a funny tone (I wish I was exaggerating), it becomes very apparent soon after that there is so much ambition, because these moments mean the most to both of us. It's a great feeling, I wish I was maybe a little better at explaining it. But anyways...
We took a ton of photos last week, so here's a bit from our set!
I hope you like it!
