So basically the red and black parts hint at marks trauma from fighting his father, the increased cracks are meant to represent mark's continuously increasing trauma and pressure from not wanting to be like his father. The blue and black parts are a spoiler so can't say that, you will figure it out when the show wants you to. Also season 1's title card started off clean and got more brutal, season 2's title card started off all black and red and is slowly changing and cracking, symbolizing that mark is already traumatized, the opposite of season 1.

Appreciate the upload! Great content as usual :D I can't wait for you to finish this season, so many questions left unanswered as we're moving forwards

It’s kind of confusing but the shape smith is just another one of the martians from Mars who’s basically taken the place of one of the astronauts from the mission on Mars. The astronaut that was left on mars (that shape smith is pretending to be) got taken over by the sequids since he’s a human (the little pink things).

Midnight City is supposed to be a version of Gotham. The primary crimefighter there is Darkwing, a Batman parody. As Mark was flying in, you could see the skeletons of the two men Darkwing handled and left hanging on smokestacks before being called to Guardians' headquarters in the pilot. He died there, so he never returned to let them down.
