I think they made his little brother a sister in the movie. The guy in the braids is supposed to be Proof. I’m not sure about any other facts lol Glad you enjoyed it! I watched parts with ya!

Yes battle raps really exist. It’s how Em was discovered. Jimmy Iovine asked for his demo at a rap battle and gave it to Dre. Battles only exist in big cities. This movie put battle rap and Detroit on the map and made it bigger.

The song at the end “Lose Yourself” is his biggest hit song ever and is one of 3 diamond songs he has. Eminem is also the only rapper to have more than 2 diamond albums, he has 4: MMLP, The Eminem Show, Curtain Call and Recovery. Tupac has 2. Also, Em never made any more movies after this even though he was offered several roles especially by 50 Cent who produces movies now bc he got addicted to sleeping pills while making this movie, plus he said he only loves rap and doesn’t want to do anything else

See, id think that too if it wasnt for reaction channels that dont show the actual video in their full length watchalongs on patreon/yt membership. They just have a timer and do a countdown and have you get the movie or show on your own to watch with them.

It’s a pretty gray area and I’m sure you’re correct but then again there’s channels like studio gek who’ve done full watchalongs to entire series like game of thrones, house of the dragon, the lord of the rings movies, deadpool 1&2 etc while showing video/audio throughout the ENTIRE movie and they’re thriving. Patreon is extremely lax on this, at worst the post will get taken down since this is my first time trying this, and i’m willing to risk that for the best experience possible for the viewers

Also when Proof is rapping he says the he will; "P.unish R.abbit O.r O.bsolete F.uture" spelling out his own real life rap name. Love little easter eggs like that. Future basically plays the role of Proof in Ems real life. Obviously the movie embellishes certain things and aspects about his start, but it's cool to see nonetheless.

Some fun info: Brittany who played ‘alex’, she ended up dying from an overdose, also he used some real facts about the actor in the last battle and the actor didn’t know what he was going to say so he was actually surprised on stage by it. That actor plays in Marvel films now. Eminem was on drugs through filming and barely slept throughout the whole shoot. He was meant to be resting his voice for the rap battle scenes but ended up doing them anyway, there’s also extra footage where he invites people up from the crowd and battles them unscripted, on the stage.

Eminem(15) and Kim(13) have known each other since they were teenagers in 1988. They had Hailey in 1995. 8 mile is loosely based on Eminem’s life. The Shelter (Saint Andrew’s Hall) is really where Eminem used to do rap battles at. It was actually the location that was used in an episode with Eminem on the new season of Rhythm and flow which I thought was pretty cool.

69. As people have said, this movie is heavily inspired and loosely based on Eminem's life. From what I understand, this is less dramatized than what Em's life actually was. His life was just a series of hardships, bullshit, and sad shit for the first half of his life. This movie just shows a small part of a period of his life with some altercations cause Eminem didn't want to play himself. So he plays Jimmy, or B-Rabbit. Similar, but not the same as Eminem/Marshall. I would imagine what happens after the movie is B-Rabbit hustling until Dr. Dre gets hold of his demo, leading to him signing Rabbit. That's about Eminem's timeline at least.

Also, those are some great friends, man! Sure, I can see they would get tiresome constantly talking shit and always with the jokes, but also they got B-Rabbits back throughout the whole ass movie and they where nothing but loyal. And the movie's message was basically a full circle, B-Rabbit dealing with the insecurities and embarrassment of his situation, but by the end, he flips it around and uses it to win the final battle. Same with his skin color, it starts out as a hindrance, but he flips it, and it becomes something that helps him stand out, embracing the 'white trash' title. The move starts with Rabbit getting choked out, and ends with him choking someone else up.
