1:47:09 The reason Mahito touches Yuji and doesn't transfigure him is explained in Season 1 when he tries, and gets fucken bitch slapped by Sukuna. When Mahito transfigures someone he touches their soul, and so by touching Yuji he is also touching Sukuna's soul. And Sukuna isn't about that Diddy life 🫡 It's one of the reasons Mahito calls Yuji his natural enemy.

Some of the confusion you have is just from forgetting their powers; Geto's power is the ability to exorcise curses and swallow them, then he can conjure them to use later. This power was the main reason Kamo took his body.

And Yuji couldn't have saved Nanami, Mahito's power works as soon as he touches them (aside from Yuji, because Yuji understands the shape of his soul, from having to harbor both his soul and Sakuna's in his body. Mahito just can't use his domain expansion because of Sakuna). Nanami did survive being touched by Mahito once, but this time he was practically already on his death bed

Guys he wasn't literally thinking Yuji could've done anything he was just emotional about nanami's death and frustrated about it which is valid because that scene is gut wrenching. Yuji made the correct decision staying at distance because he was able to get Nanami's last words and knowing Mahito's showmanship he probably knew, like with Junpei, that Mahito would give Yuji one final word before killing Kento. But acting like it's crazy when the guy who excitedly yells kento every time he's on screen isn't thinking about every aspect when he sees him die is dumb

Shibuya has basement floors. and people have been trapped down there during this whole arc. Since the Sukuna stuff only affected the circus, there were still random people just trapped in Shibuya. In fact that was one of the Jujutsu sorcerors' main mission in Shibuya, to find these people and get them to safety. Those two guys that Itadori ran into that Mahito used to trick him were some of those people. They were normal people until Mahito rounded that corner and used his ability on them. They weren't freaking out or anything because normal people can't see curses.

i have deep respect for nanami, even at deaths door he was looking for the right words so not to be a burden on yuji. also the autor does a magnificent job on nobaras flash backs, it forces you into yuji's pov because yuji is wating to see if she will survive or not and when "2009" appears it creates a deep anxiety on us the viwers, we want to see it what happend? we get desperate like yuji. but when the flash back start it takes you with it suddenly you forget about everything and then it punchs you back to the ruthless situation.

Aren't you forgetting the thing with Mahito's power? since Mahito already touched Nanami, there was literally zero that Yuji could have done to save him, since Mahito can do that shit to people any time after touching them. Nothing he could've done. So instead you got tension building and dramatic effect. It wouldn't matter if he had kept running or even hit Mahito or anything. Kento would still have 'sploded. Mahito doesn't need to be touching them to activate his power, or even be near them. Does it remotely.

Mahito is CHOOSING not to use that ability on Yuji because Sukuna wrecked him instantly the last time, for touching his soul. Nanami and Todo were able to "survive" some touches because they focused their cursed energy to defend against a direct touch - but it just takes a couple more to get them or anyone else without Sukuna. Nobara was able to damage him, because her powers are something that affects the soul or some whatever thing I can't remember exactly. Her powers are a bit strange and aren't really just about physical damage. Yuji and Nobara are the only ones who can actually cause lasting damage on him, I believe - or maybe there are others that the show doesn't get into. I dunno about all that. That's why he called the two of them his "natural enemies". Nobara's "resonance" thing. You know.
