Hi everyone and Thank you Patrons for your great support!

I want to start with an important strategic update on the project and on how its release will be handled for the rest of this year. This post turned out fairly detailed, so feel free to grab some tea or coffee — and let’s go through everything step by step.

The Journey

Over the past few years, the project has grown into a much larger and more expensive game to produce than it appeared at the start. During this time, I have invested significantly more of my own funds into it than I originally planned, and the team has had to go through serious external circumstances — war, relocations, and unstable working conditions. Despite this, we managed to keep production going, keep the project moving, and bring it to a stage where it’s now necessary to make not emotional, but strategic decisions about the future of the game.

Your Support

Patreon has been one of the key pillars of the project from the very beginning. Your support gave the game the ability to start with confidence, helped maintain the pace of development during the most difficult periods, and played an important role in allowing the project to grow to its current stage.I am truly grateful to you for this.

That’s exactly why I want to openly explain to you the next strategic step and the reasoning behind the decision I’ve made for the future of the game.

The Foundation

Over the past three weeks, I carefully analyzed the current situation and made the decision to move to a two-edition model for the game. One thing is especially important to me here: the people who supported the game before anyone else should not lose anything because of this transition.

Founder status will be granted to everyone who supported the project before the moment this post is published. For me, this is a way to fairly recognize the value of early support and to separately acknowledge those who were with the game before the transition to the new release model. Patreon will remain the place where the Full Edition continues to develop step by step.

In other words, Founder status preserves the value of your early support, while an active Patreon subscription gives you access to the development of the full version as new releases and updates come out ahead of everyone else.

The access terms for the Steam version remain unchanged — all patrons who supported the project at the $15 tier or higher will receive a key for free (with this offer valid until the first Steam release). No additional action is required — the key will be sent to your email a week before the first release build on Steam.

Moving Forward

Now about the decision itself.I am transitioning the project to a two-edition model. What matters to me is that this decision strengthens the full version of the game and gives it a more sustainable future. The Full Edition remains the complete official version of the project outside of Steam and continues to develop in the format this project was originally conceived and created for.

This is especially important today because new Steam restrictions for adult projects, including Rule 15, as well as stricter requirements from payment systems, are creating increasing risks and uncertainty and are making long-term development of the project more difficult.

The Steam Edition will preserve the core idea of the game, its setting, narrative and emotional core, atmosphere, characters and relationship development, as well as quests, dialogues, romantic tension, intrigue, and the overall dramatic structure of the project. What matters to me is that this is not just a version suitable for the platform, but a truly strong and cohesive gameplay experience on its own.

The Full Edition, in turn, will preserve and continue to develop the adult layers that were originally conceived as part of the complete form of the game. This includes explicit sex scenes as a natural part of certain questlines, as well as nsfw adult mechanics and locations — such as a fetish club, a BDSM basement, and more explicit formats of lewd dates.

Under current Steam rules, such elements are not allowed to be released even in adult projects, which is what makes the separation of versions necessary.

It is precisely this separation that makes it possible to preserve a strong release form of the game for Steam and creates a more sustainable financial foundation for the project, which in turn means more opportunities for the long-term development of the Full Edition.

For you, this means the main thing: the Full Edition retains its value and its special place in the project, gains more room for development, and will be able to more confidently explore the adult directions it was supported for from the very beginning.

Roadmap

I want to emphasize separately that this is not about endless development with no point of completion. It is fundamentally important to me to bring the project to a full release state, where the Steam Edition and the Full Edition become two official forms of a single release stage. Further development will still be possible after that, but as the next stage of the game’s growth, rather than an endless delay of its complete form.

To reach this state, it is important for me to complete several key directions: to bring Caroline’s and Amelia’s storylines to a release-ready level, as well as to expand the systemic adult mechanics of the Full Edition so that the beauty salon, BDSM direction, and lewd date activities become a fully integrated part of the experience for all main girls. The release of this content will be carried out gradually, through a series of consecutive updates.

I aim to maintain a steady development pace, but what matters most to me is the quality, cohesion, and confidence in every release step.I believe in this game and want to bring it to the level it truly deserves.

Production Name Revealed — Real Life: Dorm Affairs

And here I have one more genuinely good piece of news. The project has received its final release title — Real Life: Dorm Affairs. This title best reflects the core idea of the game, its setting, and the central core around which the entire development of the project is built.

Over the course of development, I went through many options, but Real Life: Dorm Affairs was the first to give the feeling that the title truly matches the game itself.

It captures the setting, the tone, and the core idea of the project all at once: life inside a women’s dorm, intertwined relationships, hidden motives, temptations, conflicts, and events where there’s always more going on beneath the surface than it seems at first glance. For me, this was the moment when the game finally came together into a cohesive release-ready form.

Steam Page

And one more important update: the Steam page is already live:link

Add the game to your wishlist — it directly supports the project’s launch and its visibility on the platform. The game will also feature full voice acting in 7 languages — for me, this is another important step toward making Dorm Affairs feel like a truly strong and complete release.

You’re the first to hear about this. The public announcement and full global rollout begin on Monday.

I want to clarify one important point right away: launching the Steam page does not change the access system on Patreon in any way.If there are any changes in the future, I will make sure to let you know in advance and explain everything in detail so that it does not come as a surprise to you.

Closer to the first Steam builds, I will publish all additional technical details in an FAQ, where I will also cover save compatibility between the Steam Edition and the Full Edition.

Your Support

Thank you for staying with the project, for going through every challenge alongside me, and for helping bring it to the level it truly deserves.

The game is entering a new stage now, and I want to approach it the right way: with respect for those who have supported it from the very beginning, and with a clear strategy for how it will grow moving forward.

I truly believe that together with you, we’re creating something very unique, rare, and bold — a game with a combination of scale, setting, and mature identity that very few in the industry dare to pursue.

There’s still a lot of work ahead of us, but the project now has a stronger form, a clearer position, and a more stable future.Thank you for being with me on this journey.

P.S.If you have any questions, feel free to ask here in the comments, on Discord, or via DM — I’ll be happy to answer them.

Kind regards,Tom

Hey Tom! Do you plan to send Steam keys to people who contributed a certain amount to your project upon official release, like many other adult games do? Let me explain: I once spent enough money to buy two AAA games because I believed in your project, and I think the least you could do is give keys to the people who funded and supported you. Otherwise, on release day, it'll be a bit unfair. People who have never heard of or supported the game will pay a ridiculously low amount compared to those who supported you, funded your work, believed in your project, AND they'll have to buy the game on top of that... This can be done automatically through Patreon retroactively. For example, if someone has spent at least $50, $60, or $70 on your project from the beginning, they automatically receive a Steam key via Discord or Patreon PM. This would be a great way to thank those who believed in your project.

Hi Tom, I've been on Patreon for a few years now and bought a whole bunch of NSFW games there. Your game is now also on my wish list. BUT: Do I understand that correctly? The Steam version will not contain any NSFW content, while only the "full version" will contain explicit sex scenes and NSFW adult mechanics? My wishlist now contains over 30 NSFW games, including many Season 2 or Season 3. They all contain tags such as "Sexual content, nudity". Such tags are not included in your Steam version, which confirms your description of that version. Of course, this makes the Steam version lose a lot of its appeal for me, and I'm not sure if I'll buy it at all. On the other hand, your "full version" will contain all these "NSFW adult mechanics", which I am of course interested in. How can I purchase this version of your game? Best regards and have a nice weekend!
