So that’s why she’s called Luna

Myhairhasamindofitsown

Methinks Rah'jan's version of the story will have a few ommited details on this whole afair.

Starry-eyed Lily is too precious!🥹 Nice to finally know the possible origins of Luna and the shattered moon.

And thus, we come to the end of Mira’s story and with it arguably the prettiest stained glass panel of these three pages. We now officially know why Luna is called as such, the truth about the shattered moon and at least one version of how the world of Tree of Life came to be. As I previously mentioned before, there are still some things about the story that are either questionable or feel like we’re not getting the full picture, namely in terms of how the old world came to an end, which I’m still willing to bet is a going to turn out to be a much more complicated beast than humanity simply destroying themselves and the world through war and conflict, others simply remaining unexplained, such as the creation of the elemental gods and the reasons for such, how Rah’Jan came to be and with him the start of the chaos and it’s current spreading influence on the current world and how both factors into everything. We have to remember too that Luna herself doesn’t recall anything about her old life when mankind was still around, which gives further reason to question the potential legitimacy of the first part of this story in particular. Thinking about it, the story does indirectly raise another question. What if whatever Rah’Jan showed to Lynus’ grandson was, from the former’s point of view, the events of what really happened in the end of the old world and subsequently Luna’s potential role in those events, assuming Rah’Jan was even around even back then. It could at the very least explain Rah’Jan’s quest for revenge against Luna, depending on whether that theory winds up holding water or not when we see whatever he showed Lynus’ grandson for ourselves. But of course, I’m sure these things and more will be explained another time. At the very least, Lily seems to be absolutely enamored with the story and will probably want to meet Luna as soon as possible. I also do like the detail of the moon reflecting off Lily’s eyes and how the transition from the first and second panels almost give off the illusion of her also looking up at the stained glass picture of Luna, which she might as well be since Luna did used to be the moon itself. Great page as always overall. There’s definitely a lot to unpack with this story and something tells me we may only be scratching the surface here somehow. There’s absolutely no way this is the only time this story involving Luna’s origin is going to be brought up and I feel like the next time it does what we learn from it next or how it relates to what’s currently going on in the present could very well be mind-blowing.

*sniff* *sniff*, do you smell that?... it smells like... *sniff* *sniff*... ALIENS.

Master88

A beautiful end to an origin story of how Luna came to be after the extinction of humans.

DragonWithaBeard

A lot of beautiful stories feel like they’ve been influenced by the moon

SteelGamer20

Out of curiosity Zummeng, where did you get the inspiration for the fragmented moon and the lore behind that? Because considering my history with games, anime, etc, there are a LOT of story settings involving a moon that’s either broken, fractured, or straight up destroyed!

Dan Curtis

Love the way you drew her eyes. Does a great job of expressing awe mixed with wonder.

VasirrKhajiit

Such a beautiful story. Though, I can’t help but have the feeling there’s a few details missing.

Michael Spoto

The moon tells me human civilization went Thundar the Barbarian on each other.

Forge27

The look of wonder on Lilly's face. So good.

Raxus Jagger

*plot twist*... Luna and Rah'jan were lovers.

Raxus Jagger

Theory: Luna is an alien who crashed into the moon.

Flo00

Oh my god, those eyes. So cute!!!
