So the Commanders are former Guardians corrupted by the Chaos, eh? Considering what we’ve seen happen to Lynus’ grandson back at the prologue, that checks out. Based on what we saw back then, one of the key factors to a Guardian becoming a Commander seems to be the victim in question being given a reason to lose faith in Luna and turn their back on her and/or be brought to their lowest point of despair which would leave them vulnerable to corruption to that extent. This does bring up the questions of how many of these Commanders switched sides of their own free will and how many were manipulated into doing so by Rah’Jan. There’s also the question of whether or not the Commanders are still the same people they were before the corruption or simply soulless monsters using their mutated bodies as a shell to move around in and speech patterns and vocabulary that would otherwise suggest they are the same people those bodies were before. I guess our best bet of knowing that is to ask one of these Commanders… at knifepoint. Whatever the case, it looks like the battle’s about to begin, so that topic of discussion will have to wait for another time. Good on Mira for convincing Lily to be careful about this ordeal. She is still just a child that’s clearly not fully ready for this kind of scenario, even if she is capable of defending herself, and it would be a terrible tragedy if something were to happen to her here. It’s best that she hangs back and gives support from the sidelines while the adults handle the heavy lifting. Best of luck, Knights, and Godspeed.
