Well, their numbers have been reduced at least, but it looks like both the commander and the behemoth are still standing, unfortunately. I suppose it’s not surprising that an all-encompassing blast from Flames of Life would be weaker than a concentrated one, because that’s a lot more enemies to focus on at least damaging in a wide radius compared to a small group within a one directional cone, where it would be easier to focus all your energy and strength on. The commander, as a side note, must’ve been around for a very long time if he’s seen the Flames of Life prior to this point. Considering that Mira previously established that it’s been what seems to be several generations since anyone in her bloodline has been able to wield the Flames of Life before she was born, it begs the questions of: “How long has it really been since the last time anyone in Mira’s family tree was able to use the Flames of Life before her birth?”, “Does being corrupted by the Chaos allow you to live much longer than any typical mortal should or could?”, “Did the commander witness the Flames of Life as a commander or in his previous life?” and “Just how old is this guy, anyway?” Of course, we’ve got more important matters to deal with here, so we’ll have to keep those questions in the back burner for now. One of which being Lily channeling in her inner Stewie Griffin with an arrow to the heart and a hearty “You Suck!” First of all, that was a damn good shot. It just a shame it wouldn’t be nearly as effective on him as it would pretty much any other average individual that’s not a Chaos Beast at this point. I wonder if he even felt any pain from that. Also, wouldn’t this count as technically breaking the pinky promise to be careful from here on? I guess Lily really can’t stand the idea of just sitting around doing nothing if she feels there’s anything she can do to help people, instead of letting the adults take care of the heavy lifting for her. She’s definitely gonna have to learn to trust others to take care of things she can’t, especially if things start getting too dangerous for her. Second of all, the giddy look on my face when I saw the last line of this page from Lily of all people cannot be described. That made me laugh so hard, you have no idea. The only thing that would make that moment funnier, is if that line, out of nowhere, just transitioned to a musical number where Lily and a bunch of background dancers and singers just started doing the You Suck song from that one scene from the Adam Sandler movie Grown-Ups where she essentially mocks the commander for the fact that he’s about to get his ass handed to him by a little girl. Of course, that wouldn’t make a lick of story or logical sense here, unless this comic were to be made into a broadway musical performance, but it’s still funny to imagine.
