Wow. Way to hold the defensive line there, guys. 🤨 To be fair, I can understand Mira and Leo falling for that, as they’re still new to being knights, as well as the fact that this is the first time they’re dealing with one of the commanders and their tactics, but Alex, on the other hand, is one of the gods, someone whose been around for centuries at least, someone that you’d expect to have plenty of combat experience on their belt and thus have the knowledge at least a decent amount of the dirty tricks and tactics that the enemy may try to utilize in battle, right down to the signs of such. You mean to tell me he really didn’t see that coming, or even consider they’d be smart enough to just run past him like that, or use his own daughter to keep him distracted and open to further attack, I’m guessing, really? Either Alex hasn’t seen as much combat as a man of his status and age should’ve somehow or he’s gotten extremely rusty since the last time we saw him in Book Zero. Then again, I suppose getting married to someone and becoming a family man would probably do that to even the best of us. Either way, he better start getting that rust off, because Lily’s gonna need some backup soon and there’s no way she’s going to be able to keep those beasts from getting to the villagers on her own. On the plus side, we now have an opportunity to see what Lily can do. Guess it’s time to see whether that bow and arrow of hers is just for show or not.
