Hi guys!

I had to visit a doctor today for some checkup, and he told me that I will need surgery as soon as possible. Believe me, this came incredibly suddenly for me too... The reason for this surgery is something I'm just not ready to talk about yet, but I had no accident, and I didn't get any sudden life-threatening illness, so you can rest assured on that front. But this will be my very first surgery, and I'm super scared... I actually hope it will happen as soon as possible so I can put this whole nightmare behind me. Because I was just fighting with another illness just before this one, so I feel incredibly drained mentally…

I just wanted to let you know that I know there were multiple delays this month because of health issues, but it seems the next few weeks will be incredibly hectic and chaotic too. That's why I simply cannot promise when things will be done. I will draw; I will work, because I love drawing and I love the comics I make, and I will simply NEED something to help take my mind off of this whole thing. But I have no idea when the surgery will be and how long it will be. I heard it won't be a long one, and if I'm lucky, I can get home very soon, but we'll see; I don't want to speculate. I will tell you more details when I know more.

Until then, all I can promise is that I will do my best to get better and to keep up with work as much as I can. Luckily I have family who are with me.

So this is all for now. I will update you guys as I find out the details, I won't disappear for long. And as always, I cannot thank you enough for your support and patience.

Wow, that's sad to hear. I hope you get news soon and recover well after the surgery. It's good that you want to work, but if your body needs it, it's best to rest. Don't worry about the comics; they can wait as long as necessary. I hope everyone can understand. Good luck.✨✨

Oof

pokediginut

I have been dealing with health woes and hospital and doctor stuff for a while now. I know the anxiety you feel. Get well soon friend ^^

Gabriele

Take care of yourself and don't worry about timelines. Surgery always weighs on the mind, it's inevitable, i think. Keep your morale up as best you can, be kind to yourself, and best wishes. It'll work out. Wishing you the best.

I’ve had surgery twice in recent memory. About two years ago I had my appendix removed, and earlier this year I had a couple of benign but annoying skin growths removed. I was under general anaesthetic each time. First time was obviously the more urgent, but I was fine after both. One minute I was lying on the table, the next I was in the recovery ward. You’ll be fine.

Goodness! Take care and don’t worry, you’ll always have our support!

The anesthetic Propofol burns a bit when they push it in the IV, so don't be surprised. You won't be able to count down from 10 before it kicks in. Afterwards, you won't remember a thing - it's often called "Milk of Amnesia". After surgery, remember that wound care is the key to fast healing - follow their directions, which will likely be "keep it clean, keep it dry, put this antibiotic on it on this schedule." REST! YOU are important - these comics can wait. If you feel up to drawing, do so, but don't be afraid to nap a lot.

Your health is more important! Please focus on that <3 <3

The art can take a back seat. Focus on your health and your recovery. I’ve had plenty of surgery over my years, trust the medical staff, you’re in good hands.

Take all the time you need. Working EMS I've seen people get news they weren't expecting and had to he the one to deliver it more often than I like. It's ok to be scared. Fear is human. EMS, Fire, emergency services in general, we all know far too well what that fear is like. We feel it every day when the tones drop, in the moments before we get on scene many of us look down at shaking hands, but everyone has the capacity to fight through their fear. You can too. Its ok to be scared. Its ok to be worried. Its ok to be overwhelmed. Its natural and human. But if you keep your head close enough to the surface to take a breath now and then, you'll make it through to the end, no matter what.

janitorofheaven

Like a lot of the comments here have probably already stated about surgery, you're under the hands of like extremely trained professionals, you'll be fine. Seriously take as much time as you need, your health is far more important than whatever else.

Jonathan Syrigos

I'll be praying for the surgery! You can do this. :)

Matthias Preissl

Remember to bring along both plenty to read and earplugs because two things all hospital stays no matter how brief have in common is that they somehow manage to be both incredibly boring and incredibly loud.

Risskitty

Surgery is scary. But you're in the hands of talented professionals that have done this surgery probably many many times. Your job is to take a heckin good nap and rest to recover. Taking care of yourself comes first ♥️♥️

Joseph Purves

Hope everything works out in the end. We really appreciate your art, comics, and everything else you do.

Doomslayer69

Make sure they are good doctors and that you aren't allergic to any of the materials they will be using during the surgery

Snek

I'd say surgery is up there among very good reasons for any delays! Hope all goes as well as possible!

Lorefarer

Health always comes first! Hope you feel better! :D

Take a full stop break for a month or two. It'll be better and I'm sure we can wait for updates. Wishing you all the best.

Abbie Hunt

Seriously, it is good idea not to let us know the reason for surgery. You are probably already hearing horror stories from friends and family who know someone who had that surgery and something horrible happened. Ignore them. Rest, follow doctor's orders, and get better. Draw if you want to, but not because you think you owe us. Get better and may God bless you and keep you.

Ryudsmalley

Good luck, shouldn't be to bad now days most surgeries can be done with minimal invasive, I had my gallbladder removed last year and it was general anesthesia then 3 little incisions was out of hospital in 24 hours, took about 2 weeks for enough recovery to go back to work, this was my first real surgery as well

hirumono

Have a kiss and a hug! ❤️ surgeries are scary, I know, but... hey, at least _you_ don't have to do anything, do you? 🙂 That's how I faced my first surgery: _they_ were the ones to do the job, so they had to worry not to make any blunders! I was just sleeping it out 😁

Michael Spoto

Bring the Kittens of Fight for luck. They worked great for my surgeries. Wishing you well and a speedy recovery. Take care of yourself first, your fans will be happy to wait until you're ready to be back.

VasirrKhajiit

Please take care and I’m wishing you the best.

Delisle

Very best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Revan Delmore

Good luck with the surgery, I'm sorry you have to go through it. I had an illness a while ago that needed a "minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure" but still required general anesthesia. It was scary seeming, but really the worst was I was just uncomfortable from being cold while I waited for them to go to the OR. And I'm sure going through the surgery will make things much better for you than if you didn't do it! I wish you speedy recovery.

pj wolf

You will, very likely, be fine. Probably scariest because it hasn't happened before, but you'll be in the hands of trained professionals.

Crazy Racoon's Corner

Your health, well being and happiness are the most important things, Zummeng. Take it easy, everything will be just fine. We will all be here cheering for you. All the rest including the artwork, can wait 🫂

Major Ward

I hope it all goes well!

Tigers Claw

Listen Zummeng, I know what you are going through right now, because recently I’ve gone through it myself. I can’t say I had a surgery coming up, though I was worried for a bit that my situation would get to that, but for the last few months, I’ve had some medical problems of my own that was causing me to get anxious about my own health. It didn’t help that I was a hypochondriac, so I was more hyper focused on the things I felt than others would. Eventually, with my parents’ help, I decided to get checked by a doctor to see what was going on. I spent these last few months dreading the appointment, since my mind has a tendency to make me assume the worst possible scenarios sometimes, despite my own sense of logic and my family telling me that I was going to be okay. It also didn’t help that there was some family drama going on at the same time that only added to my stress and anxiety about the whole thing. (Which I don’t want to go into detail about so please don’t ask about it.) Thankfully, my logic and my family were right, and my diagnosis turned out to be something extremely minor in the grand scheme of things that will be gone in a matter of months. In other words I was going to be okay. So yeah, I can somewhat relate to what you’re going through, even if it wasn’t surgery I was waiting for. The point I’m trying to make, Zummeng, is that it’s okay to feel scared about something like this. It’s part of what makes us human. And you’re not alone in facing that fear either. You have Dachshund, your friends and family and us right there supporting you in this, just as I had my family to help me through these last few months. I also know for sure that you have the courage and strength to face this mess head on and come out on top. It may be scary, sure, but just as Rumi and Jinu say in the song Free from K-pop Demon Hunters: We can’t fix it, if we never face it. That’s what I’ve done with my medical problem and that’s what you must do now. My heart breaks a little knowing of your current situation, Zummeng, but I have faith that you will make it through this. Besides, as everyone else here said, you’re being put in the hands of professionals that have done the operation you need several times for years now. You may find that you had nothing to worry about after all is said and done. I fully understand the anesthesia is scary to think about, but what I would say to that is to not focus squarely on that the whole time and instead focus on being optimistic about the surgery’s very likely success and getting back to your life once this is over and done with. I’ll be praying for a successful operation and a smooth and full recovery for you, once the time comes, Zummeng. Until then, my friend, please stay strong and don’t lose hope. There is a light at the end of every dark tunnel, and you will get to it in due time. And once again, don’t stress out about keeping us waiting for more of your work. In fact, once everything’s settled and you’re back home, don’t immediately jump back to work and potentially strain yourself by doing so. Take some extra time for yourself to decompress and relax until you feel you’re really ready to get back into it. We’ll wait for you as long as we have to in the meantime. If you absolutely have to draw something during that time, make sure it’s something relatively small and not super time consuming. Take care of yourself, Zummeng and Godspeed.

goodluck and get well soon🥰
