I wanted to think about Kono's design a bit, but after a little brainstorming and sketching, I realised that I'm actually very happy with how most of his design came together, so at the end I only changed a few minor things on him :) I wanted to make him look even more like a calm, wise, elderly man, so I made a few adjustments to his fur, posture and moustache. Many of you said at first glance you confused him with a chaos beast because of the purple psychic glow, so I tried to find other colours for it, but at the end I think purple fits his base colours the best... XP Of course this is still only his very first design, his comic is years away, and a lot of change will happen, but for now I will stick with the purple glow :)

He looks good and wise

And at least enough telekinetic ability to casually lift a spoon. Cool.

Honestly, the image of him enjoying some tea or coffee with a spoon alongside a dog bowl is awesome

looks pretty awesome for a psychic armadillo dog, you know Zummeng if your still possibly looking for a different psychic glow color for Kono, how's about looking at the Psychonauts games on Youtube for references and/or inspiration, lot's of the characters in those games use psychic abilities with different psychic glow colors to match their personalities; perhaps you can draw new ideas and inspirations for the character from there?

The plates on his back and legs make me wonder if his species can roll up like an armadillo or pangolin.

Zummeng

I made experiments with the colors but I felt pink was still the best choice for him. But you're still right, the Psychonauts games are one of the best references for these kind of auras :D

Zummeng

Haha, thanks, I'm glad you like that touch!!

Zummeng

I don't think I gave him enough plates, but for the sake of similarity, I wanted to give his overall design this round shape. :)

2026-09-19 21:00 Maybe they just can't do it anymore. After all, our ancesters used to be much better at swinging from tree to tree than we are. But it would be cool bit of characterization to hear him complaining about his very old back if he did have to roll up
