Hi guys, so here comes first updates regarding God Guardian mod progress.

So far I'm only working on a deity for Komorebi, but I plan to write for other regions as well. If you have any ideas on what features to prescribe for other guardians, I'd love to hear them!

At the moment, there is a character trait called “Guardian God”. You can get it if you choose an aspiration in the category of the same name.

Advancement on the aspiration depends on both developing the Guardian Abilities skill and practicing those abilities, visiting secret places, performing rituals, and researching culture.

I'm planning four levels of the aspiration for now, but maybe things will change.

The guardian skill is developed by meditating, communing with nature, walking around Komorebi, studying artifacts in the library, helping the people of Komorebi, and practicing the abilities you've learned. The higher the guardian's skill, the stronger their abilities, from changing eco-prints and weather to resurrecting sims and casting curses.

Every sim who is not a guardian is assigned a belief or disbelief in the guardian. But there is a third option: if the guardian himself tells you who he is, the sim gets a special mudlet and a new character trait “Knows the guardian”.

Sims who know the guardian can go directly to him for help instead of praying at the guardian's temple or altar. However, the guardian can refuse any sim - either if he doesn't want to help, or if he lacks ability. In the latter case, he will be upset, feeling like a mediocrity - and the begging sim will be sad because even the guardian can't grant his wish.

Sims may react to a refusal to help because of weak abilities with reproach, perplexed by the legends of the guardian. After all, they say that the guardian can grant wishes!

That's all for now, but I will continue to actively work on the mod. Write if you have any suggestions!

For Sulani, it might be interesting to play with the Ancestor Spirits and Sulani Mana trait. The Guardian could have water related powers/affinities (Poseidon style, or maybe do something Moana-style to keep with the Sulani theme), and all mermaids believe in the Guardian automatically and actively follow them. (I love playing with the Expanded Mermaids mod, so compatibility with that would be amazing).

What are your current ideas/inspirations for Guardians, and for which regions? I'm super curious and excited!! Other ideas: -Hecate (Ancient Greek mythology) for Glimmerbrook/the Spellcaster community -The Moon (in human form) for Moonwood Mill/the Werewolf community. Fun fact: Hecate is also associated with the moon (and the night!), so you could technically also just have werewolves, vampires, and spellcasters all believe in this Hecate-Moon deity, who also protects all the occult worlds. Mermaids could also follow them as a secondary deity (since Expanded Mermaids have a thing with the moon). -Sumedru (Romanian mythology) for Ravenwood. Phoenix (in human form), as well as Anubis and Osiris (Ancient Egyptian mythology) would also be interesting. -Dragon (in human form) for Tomarang; might be interesting if this deity has hoarding problems/likes collections and ppl pray to them for good fortune, prosperity, and rainfall; maybe this deity likes offerings a little more than others and gets angry if sims don't do it -Frige (Anglo-Saxon mythology) for Henford-on-Bagley. The ability to bless crops, revive dead plants, and summon rainfall? Maybe something with fertility (Instant Triplets Prego Blessing/Curse [regardless of gender] - Idk, is that even possible? Would defs be funny and chaotic) -Ame-no-Uzume (Shinto, Japanese) for San Myshuno; deity of dawn, humor, dancing, and the performing arts. Also consider: Ukemochi (Shinto, Japanese), deity of food and cooking. -A deity associated with marriage/unity for Tartosa. Hymenaeus, perhaps? Hera? There's this anime/manga called Noragami (which is about a minor god aspiring to become a major one); might be cool to check out for more inspiration/ideas regarding Komorebi.

For willow creek if you decide to give one to it. Could be a voodoo god since it's based off Louisiana? Since the practice isn't big anymore(supposedly) it'd make sense for people not to believe in them but for some to still believe
