High School Management 2.2 and Add-Ons (Patreon)
Content
10.04.2026 UPDATE: Remove the old versions of the main mod and Vampires Add-On! Make sure the version of the main mod in your Mods folder is 2.2.1 now, for Vampires Add-On – 1.0.1.
Fixed the bug caused some randoms go to school the next day or the class distribution is uneven if you had the More Students mod
Added the cheat to restore the class distribution for some edge cases I can't think of
Fixed the immune buff being on the vampires outside of school
New independent mini mod: added the cheat to force a student to attend class; the principal will force a caught student to attend class if they weren't managed to talk a way out of detention successfully; students will sit and take exams instead of chatting and walking around
New independent mini mods by request: students wear formal outfits at school (club outfits are prohibited too); similar module for the principal and teachers

This update implements somewhat different rules for student selection because EA messed up again a few patches ago. In addition, I created an add-on that allows vampire students to attend school without the risk of being burned!
Read about the previous update HERE and HERE.
Below, I have written detailed explanations of my extensive research, which took a couple hundred hours. If you're not interested in the game code changes or bugs, skip to the "To Sum Everything Up" section. You must read the post from that section!
So, what's new?
I'll start with the EA side.
I don't know why, but now they're forcing 11 students to come to school instead of 10, so Class 1 should have one more student than before. However, if you use the More Students mod, don't worry about it, as it rewrites the student numbers, making them even. The other student number rules are the same.
Besides that, the game now hardly differs the Mean Sim role from the ordinary students. That's why the Mean Sim may not come even in the vanilla game. I added the extra rule to ensure the selected sim will have the Mean role.
Another strange thing is that this buggy high school generation gives higher priority to sims with the hidden "Class 1 Student" trait than it did before. This usually results in a couple of students being replaced.
This is especially true if other NPCs that you didn't select are part of the high school teams or clubs. It also happens if some of your selected students—not necessarily those who didn't show up—are from unwelcome regions (see the details below), are in hidden households, or are in hidden relationships. Yeah, it's quite a list of requirements.
The mod now adds the Class 1 Student trait to all students and removes it when they're split into two classes at the active school. This means you should delete the old version, save the game without this mod, and only install the 2.2 version after that. Otherwise, your selected Sims won't have this trait.
What do I mean by 'unwelcome regions'?
While I was rechecking the More Students mod to to ensure it doesn't conflict with mine, I noticed that there are additional regional filters for all roles:
If possible, don't invite sims from
Moonwood Mill
Strangerville
Henford-on-Bengley
I suppose it was done to prevent the invitation of special quest NPCs to the school. It's a strange thing because it could be done using their hidden traits. But whatever.
My tests confirmed that. I borrowed a save file in which a couple of Class 2 students didn't appear. Then, I checked their living region (they were from Strangerville). Once I moved them to another world, the issue was solved.
I thought a lot about how to deal with these unpleasant limitations. In the end, I decided not to touch the regional filters because:
Removing them from the HSY generation rules would lead to conflicts, at the very least with the More Students mod.
They're used in many places, so I can't simply leave the filter files empty.
Also, when it comes to the Sims, it could result in unpredictable behavior.
The important thing is that the filters are soft, not strict. This means students can still show up; it's just not guaranteed if the game thinks there are more appropriate sims. Considering all these difficulties, I decided to give you an explicit warning on the Sim pickers so that you won't forget it.
You can set them up however you like. Just keep in mind that if you exclude other reasons and the sims from other worlds show up correctly when you replace them, you can try to move these sims into other worlds.
Remember that homeless sims also have a living region, and you can find it using MCCC on the sim. You should either move them on the lot in another world and let them live there, or evict them.
So, just evicting them from their current lot won't be enough. For example, you can move your homeless Strangerville students into a house in Windenburg and evict them later if you wish.
Yeah, yeah, I don't like it either. But I think it's the best solution. Not to mention, the game uses these filters without the mod anyway. At least now you and I have more information.
To Sum Everything Up:
Delete the old version
Save the game without the mod
Install the new version
If you use the More Students mod, assign all roles as usual. If not, assign 6 (not 5!) students in total in the Class 1, including your teens from the active household, and assign other roles as usual
Recheck all roles because the game will now try to assign a few more NPCs, even before you visit the school
And if you see random and / or missing students:
Make sure that none of the selected sims are in the hidden household (100% who were removed from the household by the cheat and which households you don't see in the manage worlds view). If they are, add them to an ordinary household. You can evict them later
Make sure none of the assigned sims became a ghost. They are prohibited to visit school
Make sure that none of the selected sims are in the hidden relationships. If you don't remember whether or not you hid that sim from the relationship panel just try to greeting them again
Make sure that you didn't assign any special service NPCs as students. For example, you almost never will see Rahul Chopra
Pay attention to where the selected sims live (homeless or on the lot). If they're from Strangerville, Moonwood Mill, or Henford-on-Bengley, and they don't appear (and you've ruled out other possibilities that I wrote in the FAQ section), try moving them to other worlds. You can evict them later
If you tried to fix the missing or random sims at school, check the assigned sims again. There may be replacement sims, so remove the roles from them and assign the previously selected sims instead
In rare cases, it may occur because of the selected EA premades. Some of them have hidden data that sometimes lowers their priority in the role participants
Honestly, I hate so much that we all should keep in mind so many stupid things. I do my best, but this EP really sucks. At least, I hope the check-list above will help you.
Anyway, I haven't finished yet!
Blacklist Cheat on Sim
Some players reported that they couldn't select former active sims while playing other households. However, I could not reproduce this issue. Even if your former active sim attends High School clubs, they don't get any whitelist traits, so you can find them among other not selected students. But think twice if you want to assign them at the special role, because they will lose their club / team and becomes a member of another one.
Anyway, I added the cheat for the edge cases. With testingcheats enabled, you can set the roles to default by Shift + clicking on any sim who isn't entirely blacklisted.
After that, the sim is prohibited from having high school roles, and you can assign them using the mod as usual.
However, don't do this during the school day. Wait until after classes are over, or do it before school, as it won't affect anything.
Restore Class Distribution
If you have the More Students mod and used the previous version (and everything was set up correctly), you may notice that one class has more students than another, or that a couple of students are missing. This is because some students lost the EA trait marker. Update the mod to version 2.2.1, and the script will automatically fix the issue.
In any case, you can enable TestingCheats and Shift + click on the mailbox with the active teen to select the "Restore Class Distribution" interaction. This will have the same effect.
Add-on for Vampires
Many of you asked me to allow vampires to attend school, too. So, here we are! Now both active and selected sims (and not only teens) can safely go to school.
The main problem was that the game couldn't guarantee that the vampire sim wouldn't die from sunlight exposure during school hours unless they had the full sunlight resistance perk. Of course, giving all vampires this perk just so they can safely attend school would be cheating.
It wasn't easy. I had to even wait for the Lot51 Core Library to update to version 1.42 to avoid conflicts, but I managed to do it. Now, all vampire sims have sunlight immunity while on the High School and Auditorium lots, even if it's not the active school day. You might want to play an after-school club, so it would be stupid to take away vampire immunity.
All vampires are available for assignment, but they will only safely attend school with this add-on. You don't have to do anything else.
Force to Attend Class Mini Mod (Independent)
You know how if a student leaves the classroom for some reason, you can't make them return to class? But with this mod, you can Shift + click on the Sim with testingcheats enabled and select the "Force to Attend Classes" interaction.
It's available to any NPC student at any time, but only has an effect during actual classes. For player Sims, it's only available during classes.
This cheat won't cancel something a student is already doing. However, you can cancel it yourself using the Reset Object interaction on the Sim. Then, simply use the cheat.
They will return to class if the principal catches them and the student fails to talk their way out of detention. I also fixed the bug where the principal didn't react to ditching exams.
One more improvement: I found out why students mess around while taking exams. EA forgot to disable the autonomy of other interactions when taking an exam, and they forced NPCs to use the interaction with the player Sims first, which is impossible. That's why they tried multiple times to start the exam.
NPCs may still leave a bit sooner than the exam ends, but it counts as if they actually finished it.
Wear Formal Outfit At School (Independent)
There are two modules: one for students and one for teachers and the principal. Students will wear any formal outfit at school; the club uniform is turned off. It will conflict with other mods that modify the school outfits.
Minor UI Enhancements
I added titles and hints to the picker interactions so that they won't disappear if you don't have the appropriate sims.

REQUIRED
HSY Pack obviously, and Vampires for the Vampires Students add-on
Lot51 Core Library, 1.42 version at the very least
CONFLICTS
Main mod
Any other mod that does the same thing (and why would you want to have both?)It's very likely to have a conflict with NPC control related mods. If students don't come to school or staff leaves the lot, there's a 99% chance you'll have this type of conflict.
But if a mod doesn't affect school classmates it should work fine (i.e. Bienchen's Lessfame Overhaul mod, you can just remove the highschool module).Doesn't conflict with mods that change the total number of students, change the school schedule, prevent stupid uniforms, add cafeteria workers and career day professionals, and so on.Files modified:filter_HSStudent_GraduatingNPCfilter_HSProm_Teenfilter_HighSchool_Active_Studentfilter_HSProm_Teen_PrePromfilter_HSStudent_CheerTeamfilter_HighSchool_Active_MeanSimfilter_HSStudent_FootballTeamfilter_HSStudent_ChessTeamfilter_HSProm_Teen_PostPromfilter_HSStudent_ComputerTeamfilter_HSStudent_TeamRivalfilter_HighSchool_Active_Faculty_CafeteriaWorkerfilter_HighSchool_Active_Faculty_Principalfilter_HighSchool_Active_Faculty_Teacherfilter_HighSchool_Active_Faculty_Teacher2filter_HighSchool_Active_Faculty_Janitor
Force to Attend Class
Anything that modifies these files:

Those will basically be mods that fix the same thing. It doesn't conflict with the More Students mod or mods that change the school event schedule. I can't think of any other possible conflicts.
Wear Formal Outfits
The students module conflicts with Ksuihuh_HS_NoClubOutfitsForStudents (but it turns off the club outfits too) and any other similar mods, as well as the school staff one (I just don't know other mods that do the same).
Vampires Enabled Add-On
No conflicts

F.A.Q.
No interactions on the mailbox?
You didn't install the Lot51 Core Library correctly or you have an outdated version, or you didn't remove the old version of this mod, or you don't check the mailbox with the teen sim
There are no students you selected?
– You assigned the wrong number of students for some (or all) category, more or less than required
– You have a conflict, most probably there are generation related mods in your folder. Find it out using the 50/50 method
The students stopped showing up?
– You placed a conflict mod in your folder
– EA generation caused a bug. Remove the mod, save the game, put it back and assign one more time
You don't see all options for assignment? No students assignment interactions?
– You have several versions of this mod in the folder. Make 50/50 if you can't find it quickly
There are a couple of randoms?
– Please scroll up to the 'To Sum Everything Up' section, I provided the check-list
You use the More Students mod and one class has more students than another one?
– Some of the selected Sims lost the special EA trait, or they didn't have it at all, if you used the old version of the mod or didn't clear the data. Reinstall the mod (make sure you have the 2.2.1 version), it automatically fixes this issue. You can do that manually after that too with the cheat on the mailbox
