In her one last, desperate move to help free Mari from the shackles of despair weighing her down, Aurora Matoi utilizes her absorption powers to siphon the negative energies from her love's mind. Unfortunately, having done this with Arch Nemesis in the past has left her doubly vulnerable to Manios's schemes utilizing a corrupted Ba'al Trigger, transforming the synthetic girl into a nightmarish fusion of all three personalities calling herself Briar. Claiming she is entirely her own individual despite her nature as a fusion, Briar serves Rehonna and Manios faithfully while pursuing her own goal of whittling down the Star Defenders one by one, transforming them into her Despair Drones and ensuring they have no chance to save each other. But despite her protests, her ability to siphon happy positive memories seems to be stirring something within her... Is Briar truly her own person, or does Aurora still remain underneath?
