What a wonderful follow-up to Friday's audio. If you follow me on Instagram (@adrianonquinn) you'll know I've been brewing apple cider as of late. It is quickly becoming a homemade fall staple of mine. My first time doing it the other day went so well, I just had to do it again and share. Hope you follow along and enjoy.

Adrian's Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 5 medium Gala apples (or apples of choosing)

  • 1/4 cup raw sugar (raw is better ;) )

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1/2 TBS ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 TBS ground allspice

  • 1 TBS whole cloves, crushed

  • Pinch of black peppercorns, crushed

  • Water

Recipe

1. Chop apples into quarters and chuck in a large stock pot as fucking hard as you can.

2. Add spices. Tenderly.

3.  Cover with water at least 2 inches above apples...not going to make a joke... not... I shouldn't... fine.. okay... measure the water with your husband's ____.

4. Bring to a rolling boil and let boil for an hour. Stir as needed. Mash as needed. Go touch yourself in the meantime.

5. After the hour is up, reduce heat to a simmer. SIMMA DOWN NAH. Let simmer for 2 hours. Mash or stir as needed. Go touch yourself again.

6. Strain out the bits and chunks into a bowl. Mash and press all that juicy sweet yummy apple nectar. Mm yeah. Make it nice and juicy. Until the pulp is dry.

7. Serve in your favorite Feral Angel mug with a cinnamon stick, and enjoy!

THAT WAS AWESOME! I love watching you make food for some reason, I’m not a cider girl but I think I will try this. Please show us your sourdough? The idea of you baking just makes me smile.

That looks delicious! 🤤 The Apple Cider too! 😁 Can someone please explain the ingredients of Allspice? I don’t think we have something like this in Germany so I’ll have to make my own spice mix. 😅

From what I can find it translates to Piment or Nelkenpfeffer in German, so it’s not a mix of spices, just one that has the flavour of many. We call it kryddpeppar in Swedish.
