This dish was recommended to me by a Patron (forgive me for not remembering your name) as a perfect sick-day meal. Funny enough, Big Brother also made sure it came across my Tik Tok feed multiple times as I have suffered this terrible illness (my common cold). So, one day, when I was still very congested and spacey, I went to the store to get the ingredients. I've made it every day since. Enjoy cooking along with me :)

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbs unsalted butter

  • 2 Tbs extra VIRGIN olive oil

  • 1/4 cup yellow onion, finely diced

  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped

  • 1 cup chicken bone broth (no, there is no such thing as vegetable bone broth. Sorry vegetarians, how would that be possible? Think, OK guys?)

  • 1/2 tsp tumeric

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 cup pastina (or any other tiny-sized pasta)

  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano (non of that green container SHIT. I will find you if you do... which to some of you, may not be much of a threat)

  • 1 egg, beaten (optional)

Recipe

1. Get your little pathetic saucepan heating on medium-low. Oil it up with your EVOO and some butter. Mm yeah, watch it glisten.

2. Chuck in your onion as fast as possible. Waste no time. Get them sweatin'. Once translucent, add garlic. Cook until fragrant.

3. In with your vegan bone broth (sigh). As well as tumeric, salt and pepper. Bring to a rawlin bawl.

4. Sprinkle in that tiny pathetic little pasta. Cook until aldente.

5. Off the heat. Get that butter in nicey nice. Melty welty. Teehee, uwu. Then your egg IF you are brave, stir until pasta thickens and egg is fully cooked through. Cheese time. Spronkle it in and mix until melty welty.

6. Gobble it down and feel your vitality flow back into you.

Have fun making this dish! Let me know if you have questions about any ingredients... or if your Nonna made it better.

Our house just came down with a nasty cold... and this recipe came to mind! Thank you for sharing it, both the feral angel that initially mentioned it and to you for your tutorial! It was delicious! Even the two year old loved it. ❤️
