As a person who tends to be a people pleaser, the passage about wasting time worrying about other people was a great reminder for me. Putting lots of energy into pleasing other people, worrying about what they are thinking is a huge drain on our energy and it truly does take our focus off of what we should doing to move ourselves (and the greater good) forward. I have found that worrying about what think, feel, and do is ultimately a way for me to avoid reflecting inward and addressing me. Lots of the thoughts you shared were very thought provoking and I would definitely want to hear more passages from these books as you read them. Thanks for sharing and giving something to meditate on for the upcoming year! S/N: typewriter sounds are my original asmr soothing sound all the way back to before asmr was a thing (1993). A pic of your new typewriter would be oh so great! And...maaaybe you could be swayed to post an audio of you typing if I ask really nicely? Please, please??? 😊😘

“Then where is harm to be found? In your capacity to see it. Stop doing that and everything will be fine.” My immediate reaction to this was a quick laugh and thinking ‘right, so just be delusional.’ Obviously, that’s not really what he’s saying, it’s much more complex than that. It definitely has me thinking about how to reframe things I see as “harmful” into something more productive, or at least not counterproductive. Regardless, I have a few new journal prompts to work through this weekend, so thank you, Adrian! I loved everything about this recording - please do more of them!
