This is very sad news as its clear just how much fun you have designing the models for this release (and indeed all your releases). Hopefully there's enough room within the CD for you to rework the designs into more original sculpts and to release them under a new concept in the future.

This bites hard-core! Big business taking down the little man again. If anything it might have helped the struggling movie. I was honestly more excited to get the minis and paint them,than the movie. I watched it and was mmmm ok. Have you asked them if you can calibrate,? Or they just say stop? Your minis are amazing. The slow blade penetrates the shield, but nothing is slower then bureaucracy. Disappointing, but that's the risk of being at the forefront of this type of media. I say sit on the project for a while and try to release it later under a modified title, if you're still modelling after that long, that is.

Crap. F those fools. Do it anyway and make it available to absolutely everyone for free on Discord, MMF, Cults, Gumroad, ArtStation, Itch.io, Thingiverse, and Pinshape as "Free Fan Art". That'll teach them not to be so damn greedy, plus Nov is taken care of and they didn't screw you or us. I would do it for free.

I didn't join until Skull Hunters, but I was able to get into the kickstarter for AvH. Perhaps you could offer us some of the older sets for free? There's a lot of Cyberpunk stuff you did that I would be happy with.

No way, that really sucks. Everything you do is F'n magnificent and a Dune 1984 or 2021 theme would have been bad ass. probably could have slid under the radar if it was a few months from now but i totally understand the struggle... but you know, it might not be a total loss. If it doesn't interfere with your CaD order, you should def think about releasing it as free fan art. Especially while the new movie is still fresh and among the top search results. Ride them algorithmic coattails to gain some new eyeballs on your work ya know.

Well the minis could be used with other themes, they could be for a universe of your own design, just be careful. Edit: To be totally honest, I personally are getting tired of the Alien and Predator stuff, I joined because if the cyberpunk stuff, and such.

Ice Station Herbert! Antarctic Explorers in Cold weather survival gear, Battle Russian Saurdakaur cough errr Spetzaz over rare iceflower pollen with life prolonging properties. ........ok, if you have any obvious still suit things like nose tube, remove them. Because it essenially looks like leather armor to me. Name guys the first names of rock stars, John. ringo, paul, george, Yoko... whatever. Put them on a ice world, Your Sand Tyrant or what ever becomes a Glacier Burrower (or Replace with whale, release giant worm elsewhere). Worm Hooks become ice climbing gear, perhaps with position change if you sculpted them or perhaps meat hooks used on a whaling ship.... their leather desert protective gear becomes arctic survival gear. Poly paint a few minis in arctic camo colors for your banner. Unless you modeled your figures after the RL actors, I dont think they'd have anything to object to. Drop your story elements that parralell Dune, or all of them. Realign the identical sculpts into differing alliances, new story if any. He is just a bard in the antarctic base that harvests anti aging krill seasonally from the frozen ocean ice sheets. David nivens RingWorld series wrote about exotic antiaging Drugs. Id think with some relatively minor superficial redirection the entire set of models could be saved for release thids month... if you modeled the lifters to save the spice harvestors.. that one might need a different set. I am not one so confirm with lawyer.

Damn, and we all know they won't even develop their own minis. Unfortunately I really can't justify supporting more AVP minis going into the Holidays. I have no Tabletop interest in the franchise whatsoever and only stayed because of the upcoming Dune releases after suggesting it adamantly with the other spice addicts here. This sucks personally because when I joined this patreon is was about Cyberpunk, Shadowpunk and Fantasy and over the past year I've spent about $100 on files I'll never print with more on the way apparently. Please try something else, Andromeda Ascendant High Guard/Argosy Corps, John Carter of Mars, Farscape, Lexx, Babylon 5, Enemy Mine, Ice Pirates, even Mars Attacks anything but more Aliens or Predators as a longtime supporter I'm begging to keep giving you money at this point.

I was thinking a ash waste theme or just wasteland theme, it could be corporations harvesting crystals or pollen that comes from giant or bigger beetles that lives under the wasteland/ash-waste, its just a question as small tweaks.

Hey, keep the spirit up. There are fantastic and awesome sci fi series to build a lore upon. For my part I m a huge fan of Farscape, Firefly and Babylon 5. Maybe a mix of those can go amazingly well for the future. A sci fi dark western full of interstellar races and awesome ships. A mix bag of delicious candy. :D

So I could be wrong, but doesn't copy write law only apply when you make a profit? Therefore, you could release the existing models on MMF for free as "Dune Inspired", covering the credit base, for free. This would keep those models from going to waste, giving people who haven't had a chance to print your amazing work a free opportunity, and promote their movie at the same time. Selfishly I just wanna get my hands on them, but I think that would work for all parties. #not-a-lawyer

Well I wasn't a Dune fan did see the movie and you did a really good job on the models....sadly too good, as Legendary didn't like it. Some companies are supported of fans making things and some just want to milk it for all they can, even if they have absolutely no intention of making such things like you have done. Heck, you should offer your models to Legendary for any game they plan on making!

Copyright laws cover everything...but many of them are difficult to prove in Court and depending on the jurisdiction and legal processes. Take for example China, who sells all sorts of things that are from other places. I get Lego SW items there for my son, which is actually better looking sometimes than the Lego Denmark stuff!

how about you organize a donation campaign and use the money for a good cause? People donate, and you give the models as thanks. No profit here. Or we can run a "Save Legendary" campaign and donoate all the money to legendary (their preference of course...)

Rob, The lego patent has run out, which opened the floodgates for replication. all the compatible brands started popping up after that (2011) so perfectly legal and a good example of how IP can stifle creativity.

@papz - I was late getting the full October release, so I downloaded part from the g-drive and just finished with the rest from MMF. Doing some crosschecking to see if I missed anything, I don't think all the files made it to MMF....

Unfortunately, I don't have a complete list of the g-drive October files to give you a full account, but the one I downloaded earlier from google and wasn't in MMF is the Gigerian Hybrid Aggressor C. Also, I didn't know if the other letters in the series or the Skull Hunter hybrids (both lists, A+B) might have been included in previous months, but they weren't in the Oct MMF list either. I hope this helps...
