Inevita
Dreamt we kissed in a future lake.Held your laugh in my mouth.I woke as if abducted, time-lost,wits folded in. Outside the world did that collapsing thing. Naught, infinity– why can’t it be you? Daylight broke like tempered glass, more perfect now, and green. My mind orbed into spirit, who slipped inside your flat. We walked, hypothetically, to the botanics.November flayed the trees. Who knew beneath the blood moon leaves lay visual time– which branch, I wondered, took the shape of my new gut, your atoms in a line, the pitter of our daughter’s name? At home I remade myself in sensation; my pleased idea of you breathed miracle, lovergirl, hush–oh, I’ve made mistakes! I pay with skin, and my awakeness, how your hands are kept from me. So, napped. Dreamt you made me laugh at the pub. Napped.Dreamt you wore a brown coat. Napped. Dreamt we made something older than love. A little moth surrenders to a fantasy of light. Tears, obviousness, pretty animal sounds. It happens again, for the first time.
