martial arts and bleacher manspread, help

Darsh

yeah they make sure you know it's a romance and not a bromance as much as they can without violating the censorship lol

raerae

"and Matthew's a nurse" was the last thing I was expecting 😂

Aileen

taiwanese girl and lanky friend were basically doing a "who's on first" but they keep misunderstanding due to how different their accents are. it's silly silly compared to standard Mandarin, Taiwanese accent sounds like perpetual aegyo while the lanky friend's Dongbei accent is like American southern or Cockney (perceived comically and as less urban). everyone else has pronounced Beijing accents (standard with some Dongbei), but characters related to Wubi have accents that lean more standard (read: proper).

I was gonna watch along with you each week but after the first couple episodes I couldn't wait and started binging the show lol. I'm up to ep 6 and let me just say the drama just keeps getting more intense as the show goes on 🍵 And also yes this is very obviously a romance story to me, I feel like wrestling is another BL station of the cross (also Wubi posturing to Suyu and trying to exert dominance over his childhood friend was so cute to me, it screams jealousy lmao)

Auburn

Haven't started the episode yet, but this is your best thumbnail yet. It even beats out Fantasy Boys ep 3 thumbnail

Shady_NewYorker

That plot is similar to that vampire Bl anime….if you know you know lolz

Shady_NewYorker

I also forgot this show as a small plot about the gurlz 💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽

Lauren

This is the kind of fight scene I need in Thai BLs

Han

maybe the scene with the kids was so long because they reeeally wanted to establish „poking butts“ as a theme

Treasure

I don't know if this was mentioned in the first reaction, but it's well known that this is just a more censored remake of "Addicted" which was a much more . . .intense version of this story. The original was stopped from being broadcast by the Chinese gov.'t and the actors were forbidden from seeing each other (crazy, but literally) by the gov.t (due to an ALLEGED public love confession) and we never got to see the ending of the original. There was no censoring in the original and it was CLEAR that there was a romantic (and sexual) relationship btw the two main characters. It's nice to see it come back even though it is heavily censored. P.S: The whole scandal also practically ruined the career of the actor (Tommy) who played Su Yu's character in the OG, but he made a comeback about 2 years ago after being MIA for like 3 years.

Another C-Drama/BL I would recommend is Word of Honor. The BL part is probably the most I've seen, and the drama is soo good. I love the characters and the pacing.

Lynn Pratt

Why did I spend like half an hour of my day trolling thru AO3 to find the fics Adam mentioned? Bc I am a woman of culture, that's why.

Lynn Pratt

Also I will drop the links if anyone wants them. Sharing is Caring.

Lara Lerke

now you gotta drop the names of these fics, girl

Auburn

Literally just watched the new wandee good day trailer and it's literally a bl between a boxer and a medical student like... what are the chances?

Auburn

What kills me is that it's not just Su Yu that Wu bi has warmed up to. It's the little girl and her mom and the entire family. He just likes all of them and he obviously craves a warm loving family. It's that sweetness that will be my undoing. I'm getting my tear ducts ready.

Auburn

Wubi catching SuYu's head before it hits the ground is maybe the hottest thing I've seen lately

Lunarama

LAKLMQWDKJWBFER please the abrupt ending at the end you guys are so funny-- still not over how they ended that first episode like what.

Anna

NOT THE ZB1 FIC RECS AHAHAHHAA IM DYING drop the links

Anna

your effort is greatly appreciated thank you babes

Hayley B

I had the same thought when Wu bi started fighting the bullies, like "is this supposed to be a silly fight scene or a real fight scene?" and then when his body guards came out...lol. I was also terribly confused when DuoDuo and Wubi were not home before Uncle, when he got to the school later, and stopped at the food stall, or at least spotted along the route home, wouldn't he have biked right by the way she would walk home if she had left by herself?

emerson

Adam mentioning the haobin fanfic makes me want to reread it ahhhh

Kyle Simmons

yes I watched the 15 episodes of Addicted on Iqiyi and boy do they get into the NC stuff at the end. And there is the suggestion that the friends are supposed to be developed into a B couple though it didn't get fleshed out before the cancellation. I wonder if the friends in this interpretation will get BL coded as well with the Taiwanese girl being the unknowing third wheel.

AJ

the way ik what fanfics Adam is talking about 😭😭

Dan

Which ones would those be? For science 👀

David v

Have you guys watched Skam??? 👀 I’ll think I will spam you with this 😭

Phonic Reassignment

Because Wendy Wu who? Why Would you need a homecoming warrior When you got a bl one. Who needs Wendy when you got WuBi.
