what tangled webs we weave when we first choose to tell a fib

Daniel

are we gonna get main vocalist RJ covering the Stay with Me theme song for the next recap 🤭

Tesa

The iconic bike scene!! 🥰 I love how their relationship is progressing and the little moments and details that show that (although they're mostly coming from Wubi right now), like him asking who wanted to bring him breakfast, getting jealous cause of Suyu's friend, their moment in bed, the little ankle pat.. ugh they're so cuteeeee

It says the video isn't available for me :( Is it region locked? Edit: Ok I got it to work by using a vpn, it seems like its just blocked in the US. I removed the other link because spoilers for hair being down lol

Darsh

Su Yu had the taerae smile in the bike ride scene

Sara

God, the phone nostalgia. I had a pink Motorola razr around that time and loved it more than anything. My ringtone was the xfiles theme song and I thought I was soo cool. I was not.

Rose

This reaction is the best birthday gift. Thank you!!

Taiwanese accent is actually very similar to what Zhanghao has (Fujian accent) since they're close in distance. It's characterized by less enunciation and more slurring between the words. It's kinda like a southern accent in the grand scheme of things since everything is still understandable and not too different that it would be considered a dialect

Jade

why did i instantly thought of rj's obsession with frutiger aero when they showed the old computer at 9:00... lmao

Lia Peirson

duo duo's reaction is the only adequate reaction to baijiu (Chinese liquor), it is truly the most aggressive alcohol I've ever tried.

Rose

by the way, the bricks in the bowl is the "Washbasin" he used to press wrinkles out of the suit. It could also be a metaphor though

This is very accurate. Just to add, due to the Taiwanese accent sounding generally more gentle and feminine it is percieved as cute. Usually viewed positively for girls, but not so much for boys (especially in the north). And while I agree its definitely not different enough to be considered a dialect, it is influenced in pronunciation and vocabulary due primarly to regional thaiwanese, the hakka population, and Japanese occupation. I learned Cantonese and Mandarin in Hong Kong growing up and often got lumped together with the Taiwanese accent despite us not sounding similar at all. I would however OFTEN confuse the fujian and Taiwanese accents.

I’ve rewatched this show but your reactions reminded me how much I love it. I’m obsessed with WuBi’s actor too. Cheeky indeed and so charismatic. I also love how WuBi spends 90% of the time watching SuYu sleep. As soon as SuYu left the class to talk to WuBi’s dad he goes to sleep himself now that SuYu isn’t there 😅

Kyle Simmons

Love the bike scene but how did that get past the censors because that was not even remotely subtle about being BL

Kyle Simmons

yes the serated grapefruit spoon

Renato

The Oneus sweater 😍

Lisa M T

I gotta say I find Su Yu so handsome.

Aras Paty

Im loving rewatching this with you guys.
