Ahh 🔥

Lily

thanks for adding extra content during your busy holiday week. Btw Dr. Tom said in another podcast the reason Taeheon got ignored is bec he is Korean and not Japanese

Sara

Thank you for the pre-holiday content!

Ophelia

He wasn't "ignored", he is still very good friends with pretty much the whole cast and is well-loved by all of them. The show just doesn't show him as much because he didn't have a romantic interest in anyone. Their friendship moments that were shown in the Extra Clips shows a lot of Taeheon. He just doesn't speak Japanese well and is older and more mature then most of them. He took on more of a "role model" kinda role in the group.

Marrit

I don't really believe that to be true. The other members clearly adored Taeheon, Shun especially seemed to be very close to him. Just because he didn't connect with anyone romantically, it doesn't mean he was ignored.

Jody

Dais major is media and marketing 🤔 I don’t know if that makes no sense from what we know about him or too much sense 🤣 for me I loved this ep cause I love watching ikuo just not read the energy in any room, guy had no context for anything and watching him maintain this very open almost bouncy personality really tickled me

Ophelia

Dai finding Shun's moodiness cute made me giggle - boy was down BAD (it hasn't really changed XD) Shun had me in stitches in the first half - in a little behind interview, he said he didn't even care about stopping the others using their wishes, he just wanted to win XD which ... my competitive ass found valid His "It's become a hassle" was also the first time I was actually like "Shun...sweetie, what are we doing?" they just had shirtless massages, had been hugging before bed, were definitely a lot closer than they had been - did something happen that was cut? He said he slipped into a negative space because the conversation was going nowhere ... but why?? *is too nosy and pulls out magnifying glass and Sherlock cap* WHAT IS GOING ON???

Marrit

I don't believe it had anything to do with Dai. I think that with all the people squabbling around him, Shun just had sensory overload. As someone with autism, it happens to me a lot. I'll just be drained of all energy.

Ophelia

No no I get that, I get sensory overloaded too - it'd be difficult with two people talking across him as well (I was just being dramatic)

Lily

I meant ignored in terms of the amount of air time he got which Adam and RJ were commenting on

Marrit

But even that doesn't make sense. Why would the show not want to show a cast member that they themselves had casted just because he is Korean? One of the producers of the show is a gay Japanese man who has been in a long term relationship with a Korean man for almost a decade now. The songs that were used in the show, including the title song, are by a Korean band called Glen Check. I listened to the podcast with Dr. Tom too, but I still don't understand what he meant with that comment. I really hope he wasn't casually accusing the other cast members or the producers of xenophobia.

If it feels like people are arguing around you (even if they aren't). You just want away from everyone.

This ep was fun, im really exited about next ep tho. Its one of the best imo

Ferni

i love yall's input, that's all

Lily

I was repeating what Dr. Tom said assuming he knew more than me but after reading everyone's comments I wonder if his perceptions are based on how things were several years ago instead of how they are now. Apologies if I was misinformed and perpetuating stereotypes!
