Stays generally are touchy on it as its split opinions but as far as I'm aware and the news articles on it Woojin was found innocent and has debuted as a soloist. Some people still believe he is guilty and I stayed away from it when it was going on but what I heard was he was cleared and he's now a soloist. If that helps 😭

can i just say.... i dont think we should not dive into skz ot9 territory. from my *personal* stay opinion, you shouldnt have to go as far as blurring him, & he has since debuted as a soloist, & it's been so long since the controversy, i dont think you'll even have to really dive into it. & i think sticking to post-kingdom releases is fine. personally lol

i want to cry, this makes me so happy you’re watching and it brings me back to my baby atiny days 🥹💙 they had barely won any music shows compared to their piers on the show at this point and they were still considered to be the newbies or the rookies. so i’m just so proud to see how much they’ve grown and the performances from all groups on this show are outstanding. BTOB debuted as a 7 member group. ilhoon (the one got blurred) left the group due to marijuana use and the group is continued as 6 right now. Most Melody (BTOB fandom name) still loves ilhoon in our ❤️.. and 2 of the members (Hyunsik and Sungjae) were in military during Kingdom so we only had 4 there on the show

about the elephant in the room with stray kids - i could give a lil rundown of the woojin situation, but i wasn't a fan when it happened so everything i know is secondhand. i think i have a pretty good grasp on what happened, though, or at least as much as any fan has because none of us were in the room with stray kids and woojin when it happened. they, and the company, are the only ones who know the full story, i think.

btw, as you noticed, hyunjin was basically cut of out this entire ep apart from the actual performance cos this aired like RIGHT after he went on hiatus and it was unclear if he had actually done anything wrong at that point so they mnet just tried their best to pretend he didn't exist lmao, that man is a YAPPER so it must've been difficult lmao. I'm still so sad he didn't get to participate in the rest of the show :( skz did release an ot8 version/remake of their finale performance with him in it tho so that's something ig lol.

I am so hyped for y'all to watch this as a stay!! It absolutely sucks that hyunjin didn't get to be apart of this. Also as a stay I would love a deep dive. For me stray kids 9 member discography is still a part of their history and I don't think avoiding that time is the solution. The whole Woojin situation is very divided and unclear. I'm personally not a fan of him and I definitely can't speak for everyone but I'd say it's ok to talk about him but make the ot8 stray kids members the focus. Just my opinion. Feel free to reach out. To see just how far they’ve come and how much they’ve all improved, I think that would be best achieved by watching their title tracks, starting from hellevator up til now However, I think it might be safer to post Gods Menu onwards on yt bc there’s still plenty there, and there might even be time for a bside or 2? They were 8 since Levanter, which is the comeback before God’s menu, but that comeback/song is a sore topic for them even now, so to minimise any goings on in the comments, it might be better to just go from God’s menu As for me, I only became a stay in 2022, so I honestly forget he exists most of the time Like someone else said, the general consensus is that we don’t know what went down for certain - he’s a part of their history, but we don’t really bring him up unless he’s mentioned - I also agree that he wouldn’t need to be blurred though Sorry I’m editing this so much, but post kingdom would be fine too, I just want to see my blorbos honestly, love them all individually and their dynamics together are so good, any pair, trio, way you could split it in half, etc, and all of them together, there’s so much to explore - that’s part of why I love them, they’re truly like a family and so emotionally in tune with each other

Hi! Long time beret on YouTube and new to your Patreon. Was so excited to see you guys react to kingdom: legendary war! I watched kingdom for stray kids and left adoring ateez and everyone’s performances. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rewatched this show and have watched so many reactions. I’ve loved your reactions and recaps to BLs, dating shows, survival shows; well everything! And I’m so excited to see how you like kingdom! A couple of things I wanted to let you guys know as you started this show, since you noticed and remarked on them: 1. Mingi’s absence is never mentioned. Other than I think a few from SF9 who leave and come back every now and again because of work, they don’t mention anyone’s reason for being absent on the show. Their fandoms know and that’s sort of just accepted. I think because sometimes it’s health and/or scandal. The first time I watched it, there were times I didn’t know someone was gone until they came back because they didn’t say anything and I didn’t know the groups well yet. You’ll see a few people disappear and never reappear or come back later. 2. Speaking of disappearing, you mentioned Hyunjin having almost no screen time. This was very intentional and they edited him out as much as possible from this episode. Right at the start of this show, his (unfounded and eventually found false) bullying accusation scandal happened at this time and resulted with him being on hiatus for months and not being able to continue kingdom after this episode. As a stay, this was heartbreaking because I could see where he would’ve added and brought so much to some of the later performances. But again, it’s never mentioned on the show and if you didn’t know what was going on at the time, you’d never know. So excited to see the rest of your reactions and recaps about kingdom (and everything else on your schedule really) and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :)

I don't think that it's a very popular opinion but Woojin has always been innocent. His only fault is that he decided to leave the group and the company right before their comeback which made it hard for the boys at the time but again we don't know why, he could be going through something at that time or just not feeling the direction that the group was going. I was there when it all was happening. The thing is that his controversy started long after he left the group almost year later and he then was proven innocent and even created whole documentary about how it was all a lie with legitimate proof (you can actually watch it anytime it's on YouTube) so all the rumours about him leaving the group because of controversy is not true. Also a lot of stays have a problem with him cause of misunderstandings or poor translation for example a lot of stays believe that he used tweets that were accusing him of crimes as a promotion for his comeback while it's not true he was using it as a promotion for his documentary which makes sense those tweets were the reason of everything in the first place. There's actually a lot of situations like this when it comes to him, so much baseless rumours like some people believed that he was not liked by the members or was even bullying them which is crazy he was really close to them and loved by them. If you go deeper into the whole thing there's soooo much and it's crazy how unfair it is to him. He did everything to clear his name but his reputation was ruined and people still say that he's a bad person.

Regarding the woojin situation: stays are very touchy about the subject and not only because of the controversy (as much as i am am aware he was found innocent). Mainly its because of what adam touched on. The boys have since he left rerecorded every single album that he was in and chan has on multiple occasions made clear how they don't regard him as part of the group. We dont know what actually happened behind the scenes but the boys were terrified that woojin leaving would affect the group negatively and fans would leave the fandom because of it. I dont think anyone of the guys looks back fondly to that time and from what it seems they arent on good terms with him. And after chan spoke about „betrayal“ one time in a live and stays connected that to woojin its been kind of icky. Basically to sum it up: the boys seem to not want him getting associated with the group, so even though woojin was found innocent about his scandal the fandom is divided on how they stand about him, mainly because him leaving seemed to have been a somewhat messy affair with a comeback having been planned that was postponed because of the departure. Most just dont mention him and dont link him to the group. Ive already been a stay when that happened and it was really hard to watch how much it took a toll on the guys. So if you dont want to risk anything id give you the advice: blurring him out in older content isnt necessary, just maybe dont talk about him on camera and itll be fine. Ive seen other creators reacting to older skz stuff and they were fine as long as they didnt acknowledge him. Sorry for my english btw haha

every time i relive yoo taeyang's (SF9) lethal face card + dance on this show there are YEARS shaved off my life, and this is an experience to share with others. seriously enjoy your time you both, i'm so happy to see this! i have mega respect for everyone on kingdom but BTOB and SF9 are my beloveds here. BTOB in particular are such a core memory for my getting into kpop ugh

I'm not really a stay but I am a casual fan of SKZ, and I was during the Woojin leaving time, and since then I feel like I can compare this to the Lucas situation in NCT in that most reactors who watch any WayV content from before he left kinda just don't mention him but they don't blur him from what I've seen. So you'd be fine watching content from before he left, especially the whole SKZ family contents, that started before he left and they continued it still so. You guys are fine in my opinion.

Just started my watch through so I’ll be back later with the more thoughts I’m sure, but was too excited not to say how EXCITED I AM you are finally watching kingdom 😭 The performances are honestly just so top tier and I cry daily thinking about how none were ever in front of a live audience 🥲 I still rewatch performances (and the full series 😅) to this day. My top videos on YouTube wrapped are consistently Kingdom performances. Fun facts going into kingdom: - SKZ and TBZ were already very close friends, as they debuted around the same time. - SKZ and ATZ were NOT close yet, other than Woo and Changbin, which makes for a lot of fun dynamics - I wouldn’t say Ateez was nugu (bc I don’t want to be cancelled by atiny today) BUT Ateez was the newest group there and honestly had just released Wonderland. They were probably the most underestimated and look our boys now! Not so fun facts but probably good to know: - Hyunjin starts his hiatus after Ep 1 - Mingi is already on hiatus - Rowoon hurt his back so you don’t see him in quite a few of the performances - 2 BTOB members are still in military at this time and Ilhoon had kinda just left, hence 3 missing members - this is not long after B.I left Ikon as well [Note to Berets: I know a lot more happened… trying to keep things general and objective] It was a crazy time for all 6 groups to say the least. I think they all needed this show in their different ways. You heard in TheB University that if TBZ hadn’t wind RTK, they probably would’ve had like 1 more album and be done 🥲. I’m happy you 2 are watching not in real time bc the online discourse was terrible 🙂 Now you can just sit back and enjoy the true beauty that was Kingdom!

Woojin left for personal issues then later Twitter did what Twitter always does and people started making fake accusations about him having committed SA, which were proved to be false; he even made a documentary about it. Most stays don't really care about what he is doing with his life however the times there have been issues is with him almost always having a comeback or releasing something around the same time SKZ has a comeback and the fact that SOME of his stans keep dragging the group down to compliment him like they weren't fans of the group before or the fact that it's been YEARS since he left. As someone who has been in the fandom since the pre-debut days and was a Woojin and Felix double-bias I don't really care if you comment on Woojin's vocals or performance as he was part of their history whether people like to acknowledge it or not. You can say whatever you want as long as it's not something like saying that they were better with him in the group or that a certain member should be replaced by him(which I doubt you guys would say). Seeing them go through the whole process of accepting that they were down a member and having to step up to fill in for the gaps left by him right before a comeback was tough to watch as a fan. After that comeback the members would often talk about feeling betrayed but would never directly mention him, so the fact that they decided to re record things and now don't even mention those times when they were nine it is very obvious they were hurt and just want to move on from that. P.S. Hyunjin wasn't being quiet, he was actually edited out due to bullying allegations(they were proven to be false) but he apologized and was then sent on a hiatus which is why you'll notice he's not there in other performances. Also, Adam gives me Seungmin/Minho bias vibes.

I forgot one of my fave fun facts!! During Kingdom filming, members of ATZ and SF9 were filming the kdrama “Imitation” together! Yunho (had a lead role!), Jongho, San and Seonghwa, from SF9 Chanhee and Hwiyoung! They’re all idols in this kdrama with yunho/Hwa/San in the same group called “Sparkling” and Jongho is the maknae of the group “Shax” who’s members are also Chanhee and Hwiyoung. I love the ATZ+SF9 friendships so much 🥺 Jongho literally just posted on ig with Chanhee recently.

So about the Woojin situation: The whole thing with Woojin leaving Stray Kids is pretty complicated, and we don’t have all the details. JYP said it was for “personal reasons,” but the timing felt sudden, especially since it happened right before a comeback. The group had to re-record the album, adjust choreography, and reshoot promotional materials, which delayed everything. They even went back to re-record older songs without him, which isn’t something you’d usually see unless there was a big reason behind it. Fans have speculated a lot about why he left, like personal struggles or wanting to go solo. But honestly, K-pop contracts are tough to break, so it feels like there had to be more to it. There were also some allegations against Woojin later, but those were discredited. Still, the whole situation left a lot of questions and confusion. Some fans think Bang Chan hinted at the situation in his lives, mentioning things like someone who “broke a promise” and “betrayal,” and asking people not to use old OT9 photos. I feel like one of the main reasons most of the fandom doesn’t acknowledge him anymore is because of how the members acted during that time—treating it like he was never part of the group and emphasizing how Stray Kids is 8. I joined the fandom after Woojin had already left, so I never had an emotional connection to him. Because of that, I’ve chosen to focus on SKZ as OT8 and don’t follow Woojin’s work. But I totally get if older STAYs still feel connected to him and choose to support him. Everyone processes this kind of thing differently, and that’s okay.

About woojin and your concerns about how to handle things when it comes to him if you add skz to beloved of the month I’m pretty sure you don’t have to blur him or anything like that, just don’t talk about him or acknowledge him for your own sake. also he’s no longer being associated to skz anymore by majority of their fanbase and the members themselves for years now so not talking about him specifically would be more than enough. + unfortunately this’s the only episode with hyunjin then he had to go on a hiatus due to a school-bullying rumor that came up about him which was proved to be false by real evidence, but this show was airing when that rumor was still fresh and not denied yet so they had to exclude him from the whole thing.

when i had my brief skz stint in 2020 around god's menu, i didn't watch much of their early-era variety because of the unfamiliar 9th member. but if we're talking about their music, i prefer their discography from debut until just after gods menu (most of which includes woojin i think?) rather than their newer stuff. as a result, i'd love if you gave their older stuff time to shine, but variety might be more accurate post-ot8.

Echoing what a lot of people have said re: the stray kids/woojin situation, it’s probably best not to really mention him much if you do end up going back to their early stuff. I was a stay when all of that stuff went down and I remember being so shocked that he was leaving the group. It really came out of nowhere, and jype only said he was leaving for “personal reasons.” There is still not more of a reason why he left the group. A lot of people have speculated and there were many rumors, but neither woojin, jype, nor the other skz members have given further explanation for the departure. But skz have re-recorded every track that had him in it and have never mentioned him again, so it seems they don’t want him associated with the group at all. Most Stays never talk about him either, but some toxic fans still attack him or believe rumors that have been disproven. Some other fans are mad at him for the stress that his departure caused the rest of the members. But overall, we just don’t really talk about him, skz are doing their thing and woojin is doing his.

I'm glad I can watch this show with you guys again in a MUCH more lighthearted environment than way back when this came out, already just because of the distance to the original air date. I always get drawn in anyway, but my biggest gripe with survival shows in general is how incredibly serious everyone treats it, and Kingdom (and RTK to some extent) are some of the worst examples. From the groups themselves to the fandoms and the reactors, it really wasn't a good time being around when this aired orginally. So, let's not take it too seriously, have some fun and enjoy this look back at Kpop history, as always I'm looking forward to the sports day episode the most 😁

Ah, SF9 back when they were actually nine. 😌 They should've been much bigger, they have a great sound unique to them, easily recognizable as SF9, stellar discography, but the only recognition they really ever got was for 'Good Guy'. Also, as many have already pointed out, one member starred in a BL and they generally are quite the fruit bowl anyway 😅

watching the show/performances with separation from mnet's fuckery is honestly the dream. every single group manages to shine and be lovely. it's hard not to root for them all (though i am admittedly a die hard atiny), it's such a good line up. if it wasn't for the mnet of it all and the crappy voting system that made people come up with strategies instead of just voting for the groups they liked. you're in for a real treat with all of these performances!

He left BtoB when the news of the investigation came out, and eventually his sentence was commuted and he was put on parole. He's been doing art stuff and put out a new single last month, so he seems to be doing okay, thankfully! B.I. is blurred out in the Ikon clips for similar reasons - not just because he left, but because it was a drug scandal that caused him to leave. He's of course rebuilt a (rly good!) solo career since then as well.

Whoever told yall kingdom had tbz worst performances was def lying. Ofc im a bit biased as a deobi, but their kingdom performances were all amazing and very creative. It’s just very much a case (like you said) of big fish from a small pond now in an ocean, and where tbz kinda pushed themselves into a corner as they try to one-up all their previous creative ideas not only from Kingdom but also their Road to Kingdom performances where they set the standard for grand performances (while all the other groups are starting fresh)

I won't go into depth with the whole skz/former member thing here, but as someone who ults skz and has been a casual stay from since before he left (funnily enough my full-on stanning started with their first release after he left), I personally feel like just ignoring his existence altogether makes no sense as he is part of their story as is what the group and stays went through because of it all however, he was a member of skz for just over 1 1/2 years, which by now, is a very small portion of their journey, which is part of the reason so so many fans are "annoyed" that he is getting brought up to this day as something that is soooo important to their group identity etc - also the allegations were pretty severe, and while the most extreme ones have since been proven wrong, there are some that are still not fully cleared up... he did do a weird documentary thing a few years ago when he debuted solo that never sat right with me personally, though I myself have no interest in what he does now but you won't see me hating, neither on him nor on his fans, blurring is definitely NOT necessary (old compilation fan edits from when the allegations were still hot have done so before, but honestly, most stays won't care if he is in old footage), how comments on his looks/voice are taken by people watching your videos might be a little tricky though depending on the audience - I think you should be fine on Patreon with viewers who know you but I can't guarantee that stays who randomly stumble upon a YouTube reaction will react well unfortunately

The best aspect of Kingdom is undoubtedly the stages and interactions (the drama is a mess), so I just wanna make sure y'all are aware of this group of bonus clips from Episodes 7 & 8 (when the time comes ofc), because they've got some of the best interactions and I'm not sure if they show up for most people when they're watching the show. the woojin thing is nowhere near as bad as the taeil thing so you don't have to worry about that, and the reasons for him leaving the group are entirely unknown and speculation only, so for skz you don't have to worry about watching old content that he is in. some people are weird about him but most stays ignore him because he's so far removed from the group by now and they don't want his whole thing and the fandom drama that came afterward to draw attention away from the group, but as long as you keep things casual and aren't like "omg I love him he's my bias he should have never left the group" you should be fine to watch stuff he's in or make comments about him lol

I'm not sure if anyone has told you here in the chat already but btob used to have 7 members, only 1 member left because of some issue (we still love him in the fandom no worries). they were only 4 in kingdom because that time, 2 of their members are in the Military (both are their vocalists too). Also, Peniel i has short/bald hair because of his health condition, he has alopecia and one reason is because of execessive stress in their debut days, the doctor just said that he already lost 70% of his hair and is nearly impossible to have it all back, so he keeps them shaved most of the time.

As a seasoned STAY, the jist of it is that Woojin apparently made some decision that broke Chan's trust and that put a fire under JYPE - presumably some type of breach in contract. Rumors around the situation are numerous but no one really knows exactly what happened. Speculation says everything from SA that was 100% proven false and debunked by police to him visiting hostess bars. All we can say for certain is that Woojin left the group due to "personal reasons" or at least that's what his contract states. At the time and since, Chan has said he was disappointed and implied there were selfishly made decisions made or the same decision was made numerous times. He equated it essentially to betrayal to the group but never outright said Woojin's name. The whole group seemed to be pretty upset by the incident and will not talk about him. Music was re-recorded, their comeback which was only a few weeks out was completely redone, and there's overall avoidance regarding him. From what I can tell, this is mostly to respect the members wishes to continue as 8 and not bring up a hurtful and challenging time. It was very decisive among the fanbase. Woojin has since debuted as a soloist and posted a 5 minute video "Breaking his silence." Hi music is pretty good, the general consensus is that you can support both but they are forevermore unaffiliated.

debut era stay here- if you react to old skz content i dont personally think you need to worry about woojin being in it, like you don't need to blur him or anything. the whole situation around him was weird and complicated but basically it just seems like he and skz ended things on bad terms, and the SA allegations against him were proven to be false (at least the main ones were but there were a lot of different rumors floating around so idk). so yeah, a lot of the fandom doesn't really like him, but i don't think you'd be cancelled for having him in your videos or complimenting him or anything. most of us kind of just ignore him. also he's not in much of their content tbh, he left very early in their career (2019). anyway, i can't wait to watch this with y'all!!
