There are pronouns in Thai (khun means 'you', and pom/chan means 'I'), but its also very common to use someone's name or title as their pronoun, you can even use your name as your own pronoun, like Teerak uses 'Rak' as his pronoun most of the time.

re: thai pronouns in convo - there are pronouns for you/me when you're talking to someone in more formal settings, ones for informal settings between close friends (ones that would be considered rude in certain contexts) and also ones for more intimate relationships. but generally in everyday situations between friends/classmates, people will refer to each other and even themselves in third person with phi/nong and their names attached accordingly. or pronouns may be omitted because you can understand based off of context. i.e. if i were talking to you instead of saying "i'm hungry" i might say "jordan is hungry" or even just "hungry." would like to add a disclaimer that i'm only studying thai, i'm not a native speaker, but i do speak multiple asian languages and they're all highly contextual languages and have similarities in that way haha if there are any thai folks here, they may have better insight!

Fah cooked all Rak's favorite foods because he saw it all on Rak's IG acct. And I think Fah ate around the ketchup because he likes Rak but doens't like ketchup but didn't want to say after Rak made the cloud. ;-P
