just juni 🚬

Im abt to start SOBBING yall this is my #1 comfort bl 😭😭 like not to be dramatic but i would die for ida and aoki

Layla123

LET'S GOOOOOO so many episodes at once?! I'm so here for this!

Patricia

not the overcompensating reference??? 😭😭😭rj latinx confirmed

Layla123

the way I would love a reaction to Ubu Love (one of the two theme songs for this show, by Naniwa Danshi, the jpop group that Aoki's actor is a part of) - Adam you'll go crazy over the video I just know it! The other theme song, Secret Touch, by Snow Man (Ida's actor's group) is also nice but Ubu Love is just sparkly poppy boy group excellence and I love that haha

Hana Eccleston

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i'm going to cry i'm so happy this was chosen!!! i'm japanese so when this series was first announced i was shocked that they allowed two famous idols to play the main couple in a bl series. they really started the wave of jpop idols playing bl roles so they were like the big step towards bl hitting a more main stream audience in Japan. i always come back to this show when life is stressful because it's just so wholesome and a breath of fresh air. thanks for the reaction as always!!

REN 🌈

I need everyone to understand that the actors playing Aoki (Michi) and Ida (Meme) are very popular J-pop idols…. the kpop equivalent to this would be if HYBE let TXT Yeonjun and Enhypen Sunghoon be romantic interests in a BL. ALSO! silly little fact but Seonghwa and Hongjoong did a dance cover to the theme song of this show 🌈

jemmo

NOT THE RIKU SHAKE!! 😱since when were we wishies?!

S u n f l o w e r

Omg! Mis opciones eran esta y Cherry blossom, espero esa en algún punto la podamos ver 😭❤️ es tan linda (Vote por cherry blossom porque me imaginé que esta tenia más chances de ganar jaja)

AlexisBrooke

Please react to We best love and We best love 2: fighting mr... It is sooo good TT

kyle l

they stretched out the plot on the thai version but putting in a bunch of ads... i swear every three scenes was an ad

3xdeadsmith

This is on of my top 10 BLs. Always worth a rewatch.

Katelyn

I love these characters sooo much

Min

Omg yes please!!!

star

35:03 he’s bisexual rj, it’s what we do

Justin N

Immediately starting with 1000 and the riku shake my wish heart just grew 3x bigger

Emma

This show is such a comfort watch, head empty no thoughts just sugary cotton candy fluff. Immaculate vibes. And yes Hashimoto is the best! The Thai version is fine. If I hadn’t seen the original first and loved it so much I probably would’ve liked it more. But as is it just doesn’t give me the same feelings as this one. It’s my least favourite of the three Thai remakes I’ve seen (Kieta hatsukoi, cherry magic, ossan's love), maybe because the original is my Fourier of the three… worth checking out though, because gemfourth are great in it.

Richard G

Do yourself a favor and don't watch the Thai version. Even if you love GemFourth, just hope their new series is a good one and they aren't ever again miscast in a Japanese favorite that was poorly re-written and bloated to over twice the length to match GMMTV's 12 long episodes rule.

mabel 232

my love mix up, kinnporsche, and skz in one month?? teww good thank u nom nom nom

Jennie M

I’m so fascinated by Chongqing too! I want to go as well but just imaging how many stairs there would be is daunting lol

Button t

Aoikis friend looks like several nct members mixed together. Johnny and a couple others

Kristina N James

The director guy you love so much is actually a lead in another amazing JBL, Minato's Laundromat! You should totally check that out next as another JBL to watch!!

Auburn

Love Mix Up has the BEST use of the miscommunication trope of all time. This is so iconic, I'm mad I didn't think of it first

Auburn

one thing I have always appreciated about this show/manga is that Hashimoto gets to be as weird and dramatic as the boys. the writers never make her too demure, her character is shy, but she still gets to take part in the shenanigans :))

Sarah Grace

I love this show so much! also fun fact Aida/Akkun is in a BL called Given. And the class president (side character) is the lead of a BL called Minato’s Laundromat.

Lily

One of my favorite all-time BLs. Two of Ren Meguro (Ida)'s dramas were the best things I watched last year. In Silence he plays a man dealing with going deaf and in Where the Sea Begins his character becomes a single father to a little girl and has to learn how to be a parent. Plus he's a very famous idol. His group is called Snow Man. The man has range!

Tesa

Such a cute and fun show! I also love this binge format :D Can't wait for next week!

Hody🌹🩵

I would be very happy to see Adam reacts to the Thai version as part of Adam's Attic😊

alizé

Yesss one of my top 3 jbls

Hody🌹🩵

I think Hashinoto looks like Momo from twice, is it just me? I have been thinking this for years

sjay

YES! I defo see it

Shanelly Faust

This wont make sense to anyone, but listen, something in Hashimoto bright eyes and smile makes me think of Fuma.

Shanelly Faust

The actor that does the class president/ director of the play is called Nishigaki Sho, and he did a BL called Minato Shouji Coin Laundry, and it's crazy the difference the styling can do to a person, cause he is such a normal goofy guy here, but he is insanely gorgeous on his BL.

Boys Love Boys Love!

ok i didn’t believe yall at first but we looked it up and omg what a difference a haircut makes!

Alissa

RJ trust I see your vision with Jo as Ida (ie tall aloof slightly awkward handsome boy with a heart of gold)....aoki is lowkey more taki to me than yuma though lol

sharon

why does the ost actually sound like something &team would sing ?

sharon

YESSSS omg whole time I've been like my god what is Johnny doing here?

Alissa

also the actor for aoki is famously friends with jeonghan....like oh I'm sure

Pixie

When you're ready to be jealous of RJ's chip butty but it's actually a crisp sandwich...😂 Anyways, bring on the fluff and pretty boys!

hayyy_png

such a cute comfort show!!! and as fluffy as the romance element is i think the real charm and strength of the show is the friendships 🥺🥺🥺 i especially adore hashimoto 🫶 with the thai version, i think it's probably not worth reacting to (we're all gunning for moonlight chicken, and many people want you to watch tale of 1000 stars before that so it's really low priority in comparison) but i hope you do watch it in your free time bc as flawed as it is, it also brings in a lot of thai culture, tackles elements of manga that wasnt in the jbl, the OST is stellar and geminifourth is always a delight to watch. 🥰 additionally, after you have watched the thai version it would be awesome if you could react to the middle act of GeminiFourth's Run The World Concert - its an original jukebox musical and it has cameos from various gmmtv personalities, especially from the casts of my school president and my love mix up. Its really goofy and silly, and i feel like its right up your alley with your expertise in both theatre and bl. 😅🙏

hayyy_png

also shout out to chongqing ✨️✨️✨️✨️

Tom Mann

im so happy you are doing so many episodes at once! I hoep you arent overworking though guys :)

Auburn

hoping and praying for atots before moonlight chicken 😭🤞

Ms. T

I’ve watched the Thai version but this is my first time watching the Japanese one. And wow. It’s just so good. The Thai one is also really good. But the pacing and the comedy here just hits different. The Thai OST is a classic though.

pnwh

Yeeeyy! It won!!! Such a short, simple and cute series!

Papuriko Pp

I really like the home room teacher here. Not necessarily a shipper but imo he does a great job tutoring the kids while also giving them space to figure their shit ot themselves

Sini

Wow the thai my love mix up gets a lot of hate here :D I personally think the first half of the show is really good and funny. But the second half for sure drags on way too much, should've been an 8 ep show

mabel 232

The Shakira try everything reference just sent me into a spiral omgg I totally forgot about it but that film came out when I was like 11 and I loved the song so much I wrote out the whole lyrics in my notebook to carry around and learn 😭😭 I must go listen to it rn

Vince Ginel Barba

I dunno if someone has told you yet, or if you already know this tmi, but the two leads are both idols, on different groups. Both of their groups sang the two osts of this drama, separately. They are also under the same company (at least during this show, if they're not anymore). Both groups have quite different concepts. Discovering them through here made me discover Snowman, Ren's (Ida's actor) group. I'm so happy this won, it's one of my favorite Japanese BL Live Actions.

S u n f l o w e r

S u n f l o w e r

If you like The actor who played the president of the class I recommend too much Minato’s laundromat he is the protagonist next to the actor who played the new and young employee of Cherry magic, is so good and he look so handsome there, has two seasons ❤️❤️❤️ is a bl of course haha is kinda controversial but is so good for real 😭❤️

Alissa

i've been holding out for moonlight chicken since they finished my school president!!!! wouldn't be mad at atots either though

Ell

Okay but I seeeeeee the vision, something abt her smile too

mina

If you're looking for more Japanese shows to add to votes, please consider My Beautiful Man. It has 2 seasons and a movie I think. You'll have fun with it as one of the binge shows

Mizu

I agree I enjoyed both tbh the thai version ost is AMAZING ☺️ I could be biased because it’s GeminiFourth but i still think the Thai version is good. I know alot of people didn’t enjoy as much but i loved it hehe

Mizu

I think the only reason I watched moonlight chicken was because of GeminiFourth. Not that i didnt like the others but its just that I gravitated more towards the chemistry between liming and heart more in the show hehe 😊

Luthien

To elaborate on that, they're both from the company that has had pretty much a monopoly on the Japanese male idol market since the sixties, nowadays known as STARTO. In Kpop terms, it's as if there was a BL starring two SM idols. There's also a Thai BL called Dating Game starting July starring another Snowman member as well as Fluke Natouch (not in one pairing though). No, that member is not Thai. As far as I can tell he's learning all the Thai lines by heart.

Jaz

I was thinking that the entire time!!

Pari

Love love the &Team references 😂 pls do my beautiful man both seasons or history 3 make our days count 🔥

Banda

I think the voiceover thing is a cultural thing I have literally seen Japanese PLAYS that had voice over.

Ally

I'm very late to comment this but on the BL rooftop trope -- at a point where they still didn't know eachother *that well*, Mark once wrote Xiaojun an anonymous note in some youtube video saying "Xiaojun I can't hold back anymore, meet me on the rooftop". Noone knows whether he was implying he wants to fight him or confess his love but either way it was literally out of nowhere 😂

Burger Days

the nct wish mention damn near sent me into orbit. i've been campaining for my wishies for the longest on here T-T

soni

the "this is a work of fiction" popping up RIGHT while adam was gagging at the ending of ep 2.... snapped us all back into reality

nian si

chongqing is a beautiful place and if you like spicy food it’s perfect. that is my bf hometown. rlly enjoy there.

Lost Boy

Japanese schools make you remove your shoes and wear clean white shoes or clogs in school…

YaBoiYnys

uhhh anyone wanna drop the name of the fic adam read? im very intrigued

Jothemonster

I got myself the combo tier just to watch this because just like RJ it is my comfort show and now is the right time for my fourth or fifth rewatch <3

Shi Yau

this is just a me thing, but isnt it nice when the cast is small and concise like this. Why are we introducing about 20 different characters, who all dont add anything to the plot, yet everyone of them is included in the poster. (Thailand)

Jello

omg yess seeing this for the first time in feb2026, and RJ sings NCT Wish's poppop, the bg's BoTM loveee

rob andres

The guy that plays Akkun is the lead in the bl Given (series not anime）

Jenpi

I subscribed to your Patreon upon seeing you watched Love Mix Up. I love it so much. 🥹I also noticed you liked the OST, its actually sang by Aoki's group and another song is sang by Ida's group. They are both japanese idols from the same agency. It would be fun if you check out their groups: naniwa danshi and Snowman :)))
