yeahh unfortunately i dont get the same clear vision through a2bs debut.. like i enjoy the tt and all the bsides but the whole sound is slightly generic to me :( i really hope in future albums yh can stick to a clear concept and vision for them bc they have so much talent to offer

They promoted V for Vision (with its iconic fanchant) along with with Top 5, but only performed it a few times due to so many comebacks causing the music shows to have to limit the amount of performances. Some shows, for example, skipped interview segments to account for how many groups needed to perform.

I loved the mini sm, it's so cohesive and just right up my alley! so nct coded imo, it's like 127 and wayv had a baby lmao!!! I liked a2bs tt and one of the other songs but their mini was kinda random to me. I am a casual listener of the group but this cb might change that lol, plus I'm kinda obsessed with hanbin rn. nctzens always joke about how much he looks like doyoung but my goddd they basically look like twins this comeback 😭😭😭 btw during mcountdown pretty sure taeyong was the one performing that day, wish promo was already over at that time 🤔

ascend is a VERY SM-coded album in general so i agree. I hear NCT but also EXO in several of the tracks (exotic could literally be artificial love's daughter... and changes sounds like a ballad straight off an EXO album lol)

i lovedddd this zb1 mini album BADDD it's cohesive and sexy. even though i'm still sad about TW: march 15, it was nice to get to see my 5 perform this kind of sound. ANDD to go off of what you guys were saying, it's comforting to hear this is a safe space from the weirdos on twitter who're picking sides and starting drama and bla bla bla. ANYWAYS! i think you guys are also doing an a2b comeback package so I'll save my thoughts on their debut mini album for later

I also love how complete the project feels. Wk1 just needs to keep letting them have more input like they had for this album, it's clearly the right choice. When it comes to AND2BLE's album, I didn't expect one static concept. I expected them to do a debut album. 5 songs that show off the flexibility and duality of the members. They can do any concept well and they can SING. When you keep in mind it's meant to be a showcase more than a connected body of work, it makes sense. Even so, it doesn't feel disjointed imo

I can't believe I'm saying this but YH might be worse than W1 with their handling of group albums. I will say after listening to some of the songs they've grown on me. i think it helps that they are all fantastic vocalist.

Since i'm seeing a lot of comparisons, I think it's important to remember that AND2BLE and ZB5 have very different goals with these albums. ZB5 is experiencing a shift as a group and pivoting into a new era, so a cohesive vision for that makes sense. The group already has a foundation that they're building on, and they've done just that. AND2BLE is a debut group, they're building a new foundation and showcasing a variety of concepts that tell us what they're capable of. YH hosted a whole songcamp with a ton of well known producers specifically for AND2BLE, so we're likely to continue getting more variety with their upcoming albums.

Warning for anyone with trypophobia: they look it up on Google at 2:03:56 to 2:04:23 I can’t look at lotus root, wasp/ bee nest, BARNACLES (🤮) air bubbles at the top of cakes or cornbread or those edited images on google. Even like skin flaking or blackheads freak me out

This was such a wonderful treat to get to after work yayyyyy! I'm always glad to hear your commentary, and I'm glad yall vibed with ASCEND-! I agree, it's a fully cohesive album and a great taste of what's to come up ahead in zb1's future, and I fully believe despite people currently trying to tear them down online, there's bigger fish to fry/better stuff ahead (without going into further detail, as I'm sure you'll see the full discussion in the discord, people are connecting the dots and realizing that the "lotto rigging over a polca" issue was due to the fact that an infamous gw sasaeng that's known for weaponizing tears/psychological pressure has been allowed to kind of just run roughshod unchecked, so it's a bomb defiusion type situation gone wrong) I also loved your thoughts on the concept shoots and such, and the boardgame episode was a nice light finish! The variety stuff that ZB1 shot this comeback was funny as hell, and I agree, they looked incredible this comeback! Also we love ZB2BLE in this house!

Im obsessed with the choreo for V for Vision its so good. Im being biased when I say this but seeing Matthew perform this song was incredible. It is absolutely in his wheel house. I sent them links in the submissions form. Hoping they'll added it to a BLCON coming up.

i definitely think ascend is the more cohesive of the two albums but i don't think and2ble's album feels disjointed, exactly. i actually think all the bsides sound like they belong together. curious stands out a bit from the rest of them, which makes sense in context of what the members have said, which is that it was originally planned for their 2nd or 3rd album but the members pushed for it to be the debut single.
