6:48 I think you are spot on about Qin's parents and obviously you find out more later in the episode. I think up till now, it does seem like Qin's parents do care about his wellbeing and are supportive of him, I never thought "Oh these people don't care about their son" but at the same time, its clear Qin seems to have some hostility towards them. So I don't think they're intentionally neglectful or only care about themselves and their image. After last episode and this one, its clear that the parents just weren't there physically or emotionally for him growing up and that's what Qin wanted the most. They gave him all the materialistic things he wants, put him through school, got him a nice apartment etc but again, what Qin wanted was them to be there for him. I honestly don't think they're "evil", I think they just didn't realize traveling and working was the correct way to raise a child and provide for him. I am glad we weren't left with that plot hole hanging and we actually saw them try to work it out. Also glad they didn't have Qin forgive the parents right away and say everything is fine. He made it clear that this was something they need to work on but it was a step in the right direction.

the translating team that worked on dwy is actually very active on twitter and explained the context behind those weird lines in the dressing room. duang referenced a famous thai meme that is allegedly not possible to translate into english, so the team made the choice to use words like mewing and skibidi instead. trying to translate memes across languages is probably hard so i wont get on them too much for it lol

Wow why did this episode lowkey trigger me 😂😂😂 I had a similar confrontation with my emotionally distant dad when I was 14 about stuff his family did to me. He reacted with the typical “I provide everything for you” “why didn’t you say anything” and pretending like nothing happened. 7 years later I haven’t gotten a single sorry or a hug or accountability from him. I know he loves me but he rarely expresses it, over time the disappointment overshadows the love in your eyes. And guess what, I turned out similar to Qin to no one’s surprise. And I’ve just accepted that some people will never change and it’s best to move on with your life. I just hope one day I can meet my Duang.

If you watch teetee and por’s reaction to this ep you see them sort of anticipate a scene and then get really confused when it didn’t happen by the end of the ep 😭 and in the photobook there were photos of them getting active in duang’s room, so a scene was filmed after the shower but they just cut it out cus these episodes r truly ridiculously long

Great show, but a steady diet of Thai BLs tends to give two inaccurate impressions of the country: that Thais sleep in bright rooms with all the lights on (they don't --like the rest of us, most Thais prefer darkened rooms when they go to bed) and they all live in the lap of luxury. To be sure, some do (e.g., buying condos for their kids as soon as soon as the kids enter college) but most don't -- in fact, the country is economically one of the most unequal on earth. The money issue is raised when Duang buys Qin a camera that he, Duang, can't really afford. So we expect to see a normal, middle class home when Duang introduces Qin to his family. But no, Duang's family too lives in something like a detached palace -- just a trifle less luxurious than Qin's home. It's refreshing to watch two shows that GMMTV is currently broadcasting: When Oranges Fall and Ticket to Heaven. The principals in the former live the way most Thais do -- in fairly cramped, small quarters -- and in the latter, a couple of the students at the seminary mention the poor families/villages they come from (although we haven't seen them yet and maybe we won't).

Yim's character in terms of "normal", this role is probably the most not chaotic we get of him and Bed Friends/Middleman's love was the other end of the spectrum. Cutie Pie/Naughty Babe I think he was in the middle. Cherm Chey, which is currently airing, he's closer to Middleman but less loud. I think Battle of the Writers is the only other role he's done where he more calm and collected but still has a hint of whimsy chaos. Havent seen Zomvivor or any other series where he has a main/support role so idk where those lie, but Yim does have a range :) Anyways, here's your Yim appearance reminder to please watch Battle of the Writers.

Your freak-out reaction to the fitting room scene was so valid and relatable 🤣🤣 It really was insane! Qin to his parents: “Duang and I are boyfriends.” RJ and Adam, speaking for the parents: “And we are married.” That was hilarious 🤣 I was confused too — wasn’t that already common knowledge? 1:29:23 — My reaction to Duang’s room was exactly the same! Holy shit, it’s enormous! It’s almost like an apartment by itself for some people 😳 And yes, the bathroom in his parents’ house is such an unhinged place to get naughty 🙈 I would never!!!! But Domundi is like, “We’re open-minded and overly bold,” hahha. Adam’s expression when the episode ended was so real! I was gagged too!

I really liked how they developed and ultimately resolved Qin’s conflict with his emotionally distant parents. No, they’re not the worst parents in the world, but it’s hard for me to imagine what grown adults are thinking when they don’t realize that what a small child needs first and foremost is affection and love, not expensive things to make up for their mistakes. I loved how Qin finally said everything he had been holding in. And the way Duang gently pushed him toward that uncomfortable but necessary confrontation made me see Duang in a new light. He’s not just a hyperactive and super touchy goofball — he can also be a real tower of strength for his partner. Duang is definitely making up for all the affection and company Qin missed out on over the years 🥺

Qin’s parents…because they have guilt and shame toward this problem that happened and they feel culpable, they decided the best way to deal with it was to not talk about it and to give Ain anything he wants. Their money is available, but not their time…kind of like Qin’s babysitter said would happen, which makes it worse. Qin wants to be the unproblematic son who is compliant so he doesn’t ask for more than he is given, so his parents think they are doing what they can by continuing to give him money but not emotional depth. They love him, but it’s all surface level emotion because there is such a trauma in the past that they dance around and has never been healed. I have things that happened in my family that we were told “let’s not talk about it” or “if we don’t bring it up, they’ll forget” but it becomes a gaping wound instead of something that can be talked about and moved past.
