sammy's scene is real hahaha

Sorry, I don't buy Korn'd dad's sob story. That man beat his son and made him do the job of a loan shark, which he didn't want to do. He threatened to use his brothers for the job if Korn didn't do it. As if that wasn't enough, he threatened to go after Intouch and mentally tortured Korn to the point of killing himself. He loved Korn, my ass. Guilt? Maybe, but definitely not love. I hate that Dean apologized to the dad. I hate it. PS. Pharm's mom and brother suddenly coming to that apartment was so random lmao

qazzyyyyy

cant believe we're already here! its been literal years since i saw this so i completely forgot basically everything BUT it was so nice rewatching it with you guys, it felt like it was my first time seeing it too! Truly peak cinema

Pari

The way I cry no matter how many times I watched this show 😭History 3 make our days count next please🤞🏾🙏🏽

Shady_NewYorker

Fluke!!! Put some respect on that name! I remember being so impressed by his acting during that intense scene. Just amazing!

Colette

I love the acting of the guy who plays Korn, Kao. He is also in Lovely Writer and I enjoyed it.

Char

and then 5 years later dean and pharm could get married fr

I can't believe we've made it to the end! The BL of my hearttt. It feels like we just started, I'm sad it's over. I believe that in the scene in the study where Pharm is looking through the box, you can hear the exact moment when In fully takes over. The regular soundtrack stops, and suddenly it's this creepy choir music. Also I wanted to say re: Pharm's reluctance for intimacy now that you've gotten to the end. This whole time, Pharm hasn't just been dealing with In's grief, love, and sadness. In is also PISSED and probably not super keen to kiss Korn. I find the way Fluke played it so interesting.

Alex_The_Carat

Such a heartfelt show, the picture of the crew at the end always makes me smile, such a small team but they gave their heart on this show. It's not perfect, and it's a little dated at times, BUT it's made by people who cared, and it truly shows.

Niles

I feel drained from all the crying but it was fun to experience this again with you, it was a fun ride 🥲

Gurocandii

The scene of in looking over to pharm and thanking him, that being the only time they can ever “interact”, both of them being set free in that moment, the fact that it’s earth and fluke playing that moment…. There is so much to say 💔 The scene ever! worth all the horrible wailing and bleating that the first half of the episode causes😭😭😭

Megan

Korn really breaks my heart in this show. He was just clearly such a deeply sad character that had repressed all his emotions because of his upbringing and you could see throughout the show that even when he was happy because of intouch he had so much else going on in his head. Kao really played him wonderfully considering he didn't have a ton of lines throughout the show. When I think of how hopeless he felt it makes my chest ache. UWMA is in my top 10 bls of all time which is funny because I refuse to watch any other tragic bls. I guess this one just has enough of a happy ending that it makes it worth it. I'm glad you guys loved it even if it's a bummer that you obviously weren't big fans of winteam.

Shady_NewYorker

The fact that they represented Pharm's mind going into chaos by the spiral staircase leading to darkness was too good!

Shady_NewYorker

Also the fact that the grampa didn't want his son to be gay, yet all his future grandsons end up it being gay lolz Except for Pharm little brother

Sam

Loved watching this again with you guys ❤️❤️

Victoria1823

I DESPERATELY need someone to take that gun away, check and clear it, and preferably take the slide off right now!!

Victoria1823

1:34:28 my catholic ass thought the same, Adam 😆

A few key points that will help a little bit. Pharm’s mom and brother were told about the situation by Deans grandpa while driving to Korn and Intouch place after getting off the plane. That is why they are there and not too shocked. Also the ending Dean and Pharm eventually get married, build a large house together, and fulfill Pharm's dream of running his own restaurant. (I believe they destroyed the condos and built the restaurant there)

Laura Williams

y'all should watch history 3 make our days count next😄

Bex

I have watched this more than a hand full of times (it is one of my top bls there’s usually a yearly rewatch) but the way Dean says “in don’t do this. Don’t take him away from me” always gives me chills

Tee Jay

This was my first BL and it stayed in the #1 spot up until Revenged Love. It's still #1 in regards to storyline but over all It's now just slightly out of first for me. I've seen it so many times yet I still cry just as much as the first time I saw it. It's such a heartbreaking story.

What a ride yall!! I think this was my first BL when it came out and it was so fun to watch it again with you all these years later (and watch it fr this time instead of gaming the whole time and fast forwarding to get to winteam scenes)... ALSO i was so damn confused the whole time because I was waiting for Alex to get with that weird guy from Dean's faculty who hits on Pharm in the library. Turns out I mixed up the side plots in UWMA with Love by Chance and the same actors are a couple in that one 😭😭

Roman Longoria

One thing that made me cry a little more was thinking about how the souls of Korn and Intouch attached themselves to the purest souls around at the time. AKA the two youngest at the funeral, Kard and Alin.

Sofia98~

Also shout-out to Friedrich at 59:00 whole process of lying down. 10/10 for dramatic effect and best boy. Truly had me at the edge of my seat.

Kaitlyn Stewart

Watching the dads tie the thread to their bodies might be the hardest I’ve ever cried in a show. Definitely the hardest I’ve cried on an SSRI lmao

Amanda

Not RJ whispering in Adam's ear while he's crying, "It's his ring Adam.." 😂

Moxxy

If I had a nickel for everytime this old man died in a BL drama and was the father of another side character who is only relevant in like 1 episode I'd have two nickels.

CM DaiFan

I read somewhere that in the novel, Korn's dad is so shaken by his son's suicide that he changes his life; gives up loan sharking and devotes himself to charitable pursuits -- the road to redemption is long and hard, but he gets there. We don't see that road in the show -- only the endpoint. Perhaps the producers assumed that most viewers had read the novel. But we could have had a little less side plot filler and more on how the dad did in fact redeem himself. What you point to may well be one of the show's flaws -- Korn did need to apologize, but not to his dad; one of the tragedies of suicide is that apology and redemption goes forever out of reach unless, of course, you accept reincarnation. But even with its flaws, UWMA remains such a moving drama in the way it touches on universal themes -- and deserves its place as one of the great landmarks in the history of Thai BL. Very glad that Adam and RJ decided to do the review and recaps.

Emma

Every once in a while i remember that some people watched Between Us before UWMA. Can you imagine having Dean and Pham as the second couple with basically zero context? Insane thought. This Troy is such an iconic series that has such a special place in my heart what with it being only the second bl I ever watched. And the soundscape is so distinct, every song and piece of music is instantly recognisable in a way I don’t think any other series has managed. I can’t believe this journey is over, it feels like you just started (with a bang) and now we’re here! What a ride this was, I’m s9 glad I got to experience this with you! !

SimplyNas

Yep! Even during promos Sammy said that the trip was real. The trip down the stairs too in an earlier episode was real too 🤭 Our clumsy girl 😂😂

SimplyNas

Imagine how much it must have hurt Korn to see the bright light that was a part of In’s charm slowly fade because of their love and how people felt about it. 😭😭 He fully blamed himself for that 😭 Even though In was ready to fight the world with him next to him. But Korn didn’t feel he was strong enough to protect In from the pain. My hopeful dream and wish will forever be a series where we just got to see Korn and In be happy together 😭😭😭 Fluke and his tears carried the entire series on his back. That breakdown scene makes me cry all the time. FYI…if I remember correctly, the grandma and grandpa actors are pretty big names in the Thai entertainment industry so it was a HUGE deal to see these two in this little BL series. Thank you RJ and Adam for watching one of my favorite BLs of all time 💕💕

Hody🌹🩵

It was such a pleasure to rewatch this series along with you, I cried all over again. The end was more about Intouch Forgiving Korn and than for the elders to get their redemption, truly beautiful. Excited for the upcoming reactions

xiomara

wow what a journey…and the tears just kept coming my god

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

Same. Rewatching this show with Adam and RJ I one more time was impressed by his acting

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

“Why the hell is the gun still there?” — I asked myself the same question when I watched it for the first time. What a crazy plot twist! 😱 I was also sobbing while rewatching the scene with you where the two fathers tie Korn and In’s bodies together with the red thread 😭😭😭

I_KPOP_Fan (Ry_Noona)

“Korn, please take care of him, he is my beloved son.” Makes me SOB every damn time.

temporarypurple

“I hope they give him the white version of ja’s wig” so the white Sam’s wig at the end of supernatural…
