Sketch Roundup: January (+ News) (Patreon)

1.  Nick's First Tail. Sketch practice for a possible future commission. And a bunch of underwater clothing options.

2.  More Sketch practice of Nick as a catboy for that same reason.

3.  Quick sketch of an elf relating to a short script written by a Patron. Elf's being the characters of which.

4.  New fish in the school! More character references for Arkuatica.

5. Tempura tailed merperson is an idea I've had for a long time, but this one came to me recently and I thought was cute so I sketched up.

The 'Rich In Omega 3' comic is getting close to becoming too big to send via e-mail. Adding one more page would send it over the top, and while I could convert the pages to jpeg's, it's the start of going down the path of accepting ever lower levels of final quality. One of the decisions I made early on about the Ark' comics was to reduce the resolution of the current png's from 1920, to 1280 in order to fit them in the e-mails. There isn't really any loss of detail there due to the nature of its big cartoony style, but I dislike the compression of jpeg's and won't compound it with the reduced resolution.

This ties in with the next part. I'd also like to show more people more of Arkuatica than just the occasional illustration or comic cover. Therefore, I'm going to make 'Rich In Omega 3' available on Patreon here next Friday, and over the following couple of months I'll be uploading individual pages of it to Deviantart, Furaffinity and such.

Issue 7 'Fishy Business' is well underway with pages 5&6 yesterday, and this time next week I'll be halfway done.

I'm continuing to learn how to use Blender for the eventual purpose of creating Arkuatica in the 3D world and animation, but there's not a lot I can say about it or show right now, it's probably going to be a while.
