[ Xiaother ] Inn's Secrets HD (+ process + PSD) (Patreon)

I have to say, it's a different kind of fun when I draw ships I'm not extremely involved in: I put aside the content and focus on the art aspect only, enjoying the process possibly even more 💕 It is harder to brainstorm the prompt sometimes but once it's set, the rest is all enjoyment - this absolutely is an example of it!

I struggled a bit with the colors of this one; night scenarios are the hardest for me and I often find myself attempting various solutions or just completely instinctively picking colors until I find something barely suitable and later adjust colors. You can see how at the beginning I had attempted a brighter and more saturated color test only to later start over and use more muted colors instead! When I realized it was the background tree distracting/misleading me, I toned it down and worked on creating the night atmosphere I had in mind!
