There's a certain feeling I got when Sunday kept looking at Welt in the station that is perfectly encapsulated here. Aside from the shipping material, Sunday absolutely looks up to Welt for guidance and it's safe to say he's grown fond of him enough that he seeks Welt's approval and social cues, particularly because Welt isn't overbearing nor pushy unless he has to be for the sake of those he cares for, which are all things Sunday is used to in a mentor. Welt always tells us "I'll be here if you have questions" and effectively comes to the rescue once we need him, not to mention he reigns over tremendous power that he only ever uses when absolutely necessary. Sunday is experiencing his first taste of freedom and he's chosen to learn all he can from Welt, who has people who easily trust him and follow him effortlessly. And Welt is letting him explore and letting him be close. That's the precious thing. I genuinely feel like Sunday wants to return his kindness. He wants to help. He wants to do good. He wants to learn. He wants to grow. He wants to make Welt proud and make him not regret giving him a second chance. That's also precious; he wasn't given very many chances before, I reckon, nor room to grow. He was told to modify thoughts and actions to fit a certain mold, to the point that he became obsessed with perfection. Welt is letting him figure it out and do what he wants, and if it gets messy? So be it. So it wouldn't really be that surprising if Sunday has absolutely fallen head over heels for Welt. Plus I'm sure he's also absolutely wonderful in bed too lmao Sunday yearning is not new, but the possibility of him finally getting a reciprocating action IS, and he's going with it. He's going for it. And honestly, I'd be in the exact same shoes lol I love both of them! Time to wait and see where you take this head canon and exploration; I always enjoy your stories (and art that comes with it ofc) wonderfully done! Thank you for sharing!

Sunday is mourning Gallagher, while also coming to the realization that while he and Gallagher were close, he didn't feel the way he feels about Welt. now he is insecure, unsure if Welt actually wants him more than in bed, or if Welt judges him for the threesomes they had with Gallagher. he even wonders if Welt has more intimate partners, on and off of the Express. how it ends i'd rather you decide, but i am literally SCREAMING OVER THE POTENTIAL FOR ANGST. i want Sunday to come undone under Welt's love and reassurance and care. crying under Welt, while he mourns Gallagher and worries that Welt judges him or doesn't really love him because of all he's done.
