For this page, I used a coloring process that I had developed in 2022 when I was learning digital painting, it almost felt nostalgic 🥹💜

This method is the best I found to create dramatic lighting! Here's how it works:

1️⃣ Use a bright colors to fill outlines, as bright as you want the light source hitting your characters to be!

2️⃣ On new layer(s) placed above the previous one, normally proceed with flat colors:

3️⃣ Use a layer mask to "carve out" areas of light hitting their bodies.

BONUS STEP: set the lineart layer's blending mode to Color Burn and lower its opacity until you see colors popping! If you used multiple layers for your lineart, group them first and change the group's blending mode instead.

4️⃣ If you need to apply extra layers of shadows, always avoid those areas you defined at the previous stage!

After this point, I proceed with rendering as usual! If you prefer not to use a painterly rendering style, at this point I would only suggets adding highlights on flesh (including those juicy details like sweat, saliva... and other bodily fuilds) and tracing over some areas whose lineart need more precision! Extras are entirely up to you and the style you wish to achieve!

Super happy you find it useful! I'm not the best at explaining my process with words but I figured images could help 💜
