Hey everyone! I know this might be poking the hornet's nest, but there is something that I wanted to address. Patreon allows for users to leave feedback messages whenever they cancel their pledge and recently I have been getting some passive aggressive ones, that feel like people just wanted to take out their frustrations on me:

There have been others like saying that I don't upload enough during a month where I have been particularly active and people just outright insulting me. Personal feelings aside, I feel that it's unfair to throw this criticism at me the moment you delete your pledge, because if you really feel like something is bothering you, then I would ask you to tell me directly, so I can do something about it.

So with this I would like to invite you to send me your feedback, either by leaving a comment or sending me a private message if you don't want to make it public. I'll try my best to respond to you and address concerns. All I'm asking is to keep things civil. :3

Here are some bullet points to help you:

Do you think my stream announcements are too frequent? / Should I stop announcing them on Patreon?

Should I make alt versions of pictures, like watersports, into seperate posts, so you can avoid seeing them if you don't want to?

What do you dislike about the way I'm doing Patreon? What would you like me to do better?

What community projects would you like to see? Should I do polls differently?

Is there something that has been bothering you about my art? What is it you would like me to do different instead?

I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions. :3

I've really enjoyed your patreon and happy to send over my thoughts. Patron to me is the hub of content of artists. The individual stream announcements is look more for on Bluesky and other social media, but less so on Patreon. I've not minded those posts, but maybe saying posts about steaming is it was going to be a big campaign or it ties in to a community project. I've gotten accustomed to your usually alt pics so I usually know what to expect. I wouldn't want to have more posts for pretty much the same post, so I'd say continuing like you have with alts is good by me. Your voting and community projects are great fun and really enjoy those! I hope these insights help

Thank you! The reason why I announce streams here was just so people wouldn't miss them if they wanted to see them, but thinking it over from what you said, yeah it makes more sense to keep it on social platforms, I agree. If I do a stream that is relevant to the stuff I do on Patreon then I will announce it here, but not anymore for game streams. :3

Just my two cents, but I'm subscribed to Patreons with far more stream notifications, and less content, with higher subscription prices. I don't see an issue with how your's is done. As for content, I don't find alts an issue - if they're not my kink I just don't look at them. I like the polls and projects you do, they allow for more interaction with Patreons than I see elsewhere.

Guess that's gonna be my first Patreon post then. So first of all I don't mind the stream announcements. If anything I'm just a bit annoyed, because so far I didn't find the time to watch them. And second of all, what's really bothering me about your art, is that it is just so damn good and exactly the style I was looking for without knowing. So if anything it might be a bother to me that I didn't find here sooner. :-) Aside from that, I'm okay with the alternate image versions, I do like them actually. And given that Patreon is really, really slow in loading previews (especially on mobile), there's often enough time to decide if I want to see the second versions or not. Splitting those into separate posts might also clutter the feed too much imho. Hope that helps a bit, don't let mean comments get to you, merry Christmas and happy holidays. :-)

You can't please everybody. I've been around for years and you always post content every month! If you subscriber numbers are steady or going up then I would ignore the negative feedback. One feedback, the comic... it would be nice to get an update.

To give more constructive feedback on the game stream notifications, most of the artists I've pledged to in the past use Discord announcements in their Patreon connected Discord if they are going to do streams, especially ones not related to the medium that their Patreon was established for. I have a bad habit of following too many artists in various gallery and social media sites, so I use Patreon to be my notifications for artists I really want to see their new work as soon as it comes out, with my wallet forcing me to moderate the number. At this point, I'm even overwhelmed by my Patreon notifications for new art submissions, so for my case, yes, the game stream notifications were functionally spam. I do have to reduce the number of pledges I have active in general, and I thought that was the most useful feedback I could have given in the space appropriate for an exit survey. I also wasn't (and am still not) in a great headspace, so it was not phrased as diplomatically as it possibly could have, and hopefully this is at least a little better, with a bit more context.

I think you’re amazing and hope any mean comments from now on do not dissuade you from continuing to be amazing and happy! Love you tiger man 😘

Zetnafox

I only ever see your steam announcements BECAUSE they are on Patreon, and I get an email on my phone when you post them on Patreon, so I’m completely fine with how you’re doing them, I would miss them otherwise 🤷‍♂️

dreamandnightmare

Thank you very much! That is very kind of you. :3 I do like the point that Zato Bull brought up though: People come here to support my art, so twitch stream announcements aren't really in that area. It just encourages me to do actual art streams more.

dreamandnightmare

Thank you very much! That is very sweet of you. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to you too! :3 As for the load times: The issue might be on my side because I always upload the hi-res versions. So maybe a good idea to help mobile users would be to use a small resolution file as the preview and then put the hi-res files just in the files section. That way you wouldn't have to sit through long load times. I'll kep that in mind for now. The reason why I always uploaded the hi-res files as the image previews as well was that I was worried people might not scroll down and then wonder why they are only getting small resolution files and not the hi-res stuff they paid for.

dreamandnightmare

Thank you! I have good news for you then: I am working on the next page - finally! I have been spread too thin this past year when it comes to various projects, but I have finally managed to find a way to organize my art better and keep an overview of it, so that the comic and other things should get back on track soon. :3

dreamandnightmare

It's a fair criticism as Zato Bull point out, I totally get that. But it just feels like a slap in the face when it is something that could have been brought up before, so I could actually address it. I see your point and I agree with it that it's not really suited for Patreon subscribers.

dreamandnightmare

Thanks a lot. They don't, they just hurt because they were things that I would have liked to be told in a manner so I could actually react on them instead of having them just thrown in my face as a little "fuck you" when someone unsubs from my Patreon. I really appreciate your support. :3

Fen Longpaw

I guess I should have just selected "my financial situation has changed", since that's the other driving factor. I just didn't think that would be useful feedback

dreamandnightmare

Well I do also announce them on all my other active sites, or you could download the twitch app and follow me there, then you'd get a phone notification too! :3

To be perfectly honest, I'm always happy to see a new post from you as it means a new piece or art/fun poll/gaming stream is there to enjoy =) in terms of posting about your streams, it's the easiest way for me to know you're doing one so I can watch live if I can =) admittedly I can't think of anything as a way of improvement for the way you do it, as people have stated, it's inevitable that not every piece of art can be to everyone's liking, but with how often you post new stuff, there would be a new piece a person would enjoy soon anyway =) I also enjoy the polls and comment suggestions, my only gripe (but it's just how polls work) is sometimes when I finally see the poll, it can be that there's already an overwhelming voting on one idea already by the time I've seen it, meaning the choice has already been made. Like I said, it's just how polls work though ^_^ bottom line is, you're an amazing artist and I thoroughly enjoy your post variety and your willingness to interact to get opinions and ideas from patrons. It's frustrating that some of the comments you got can feel like a slap in the face, but I hope that doesn't dissuade you from what you do ^_^

BlackLiquidSorrow

-I personally feel stream announcements should be limited to stuff that's related to your "brand" E.G The ranking furry crushes stream. -I don't have a problem with the alts. Not into watersports but it's not something that actively disgusts me. -Only issue i have is the gaming stream announcements. -I don't really have any ideas for community projects. Maybe more stuff like Rick's hitchhiking adventure? -I have no problem with your art. It's phenomenal

dreamandnightmare

Thank you for your feedback! :3 As for the polls, I agree with you, I wish Patreon would allow for secret polls where the leading option wasn't visible until the very end. But the only way to do that would be to use an external polling website and I feel that it might be too much of a hassle, because I will always lose people who don't want to use an external site for that. Thanks for all the kind words and your support. It means a lot to me! :3

dreamandnightmare

Thank you! Yes, as I said in response to other comments, I will limit my game stream announcements to social media from now on. I appreciate you not being into watersports, but not minding it too much. :3 And thanks a lot of your support and kind words. I'm glad you enjoy my art! :3

Cross

I don't really find stream announcements to be a big deal. Even though I don't watch them it's as easy to leave alone as swiping away the notification... What, once a week? The only thing I would prefer is if the more Kinky (watersports / sounding / etc.) were separate, but you seem aware of that. Making them spoilered in your telegram would be appreciated as well since it's easy to miss the warning and come face to face with "WOAH alright then" a bit suddenly. The stuff like Rick's hitchhiking adventure is really cute. Always nice to see! For the most part keep doing what you're doing I think.

Socks the Tiger

sorry to hear that 😿 i love that you engage with ur community fully and stream and all, and i think youve done a good job this year. if we're doing feedback, i'd love to see more feet (or even socks), hahaha. if anything though, it would do you well to start a patreon discord, and that way people can get pings or look at whatever content they want based on roles/channels. you could quarantine the pee that way. keep up the good work though ❤️ (and it was very nice to meet you at mff!)

Darling Deer

Personally I don’t mind the stream notifications. I like seeing artists engaging with their community outside of “here’s the art. Have a nice day”. I don’t watch streams much myself because I’m already busy in calls usually but I haven’t been bothered at all by how you handle your patreon. I prefer an active feed over a barren one

dreamandnightmare

Yeah, I figured once a week wasn't too bad, but I'll also concede that it's not really the kind of content people sub to my Patreon for, so I'll hold off on announcing streams here that are not art related. Thing is, most people who commented here preferred to keep the alt versions in the same posts, so it doesn't clutter notifications too much and I do agree with that. Using spoilers for the telegram channel seems prudent. I will think about that. And than kyou, I appreciate it. :3

dreamandnightmare

It was nice to meet you too! And thank you for your support and feedback! :3 I've dabbled with Discord before, but I don't think it is for me. The thing is that it's really stressful for me to keep up with realtime online interaction, because I would need to moderate the server and also check in regularly to see if there are any discussions going on that I should be aware of. I had a Discord server for Patreon briefly some time back and it just didn't work out, because it caused me to much anxiety.

William Hastings

I don’t see any issue with how you have things set as they are. Personally I’m not interested in streams, be it art or game streams, so I simply set them aside. Alts are good because everyone is into different things, if they don’t like it they don’t have to look at it. Keep up the good work and stay amazing ^~^

J.C.

Honestly, you're the best artist I've ever subscribed to on Patreon. Your work is amazing and you make tons of it. Some artists send out one or two images a month. Also Coach Night is probably the hottest fursona I've ever seen. You also seem pretty cool.

dreamandnightmare

Aww, thank you so much. That is very kind of you! And I'm glad to hear you think so highly of Coach Night! ;3
