Basically, the entire situation surrounding the OmeTV ban is based on a miscommunication or, more accurately, a lack of communication. Since Omegle shut down, our browser extension that supported both platforms was supposed to serve as a bridge between two web communities to ensure a peaceful transition of power and eventually be dismantled. There was a bit of tension before, but I thought that giving at least $3.1 mln away to an op that could REALLY manage to remove the dot was a good way to work towards resolving it...
Discriminating against the client was not a good idea, and we've made that extremely clear. Those who attacked the contained browser extension—a non-profit venture intended to expand OmeTV's market presence (that was literally the name of the original project in russian xD)—without any communication made a mistake that was deeply confusing and troubling to me personally, the analysis of their code suggested a vast underestimation of our capabilities and a lack of any basic computer science education (i dropped that shit btw)...
We were able to absorb the consequences for a very long time because we needed OmeTV to focus on protecting the foundation for the future of indie omegle and overall our custom WEB client was envisioned specifically with omegle.com in mind, a WEB platform that will never return and we suspect that OmeTV's issues with australian regulator were one of the main reasons why the auction for the original IP didn't garner much interest..
At the time of the ban, OmeTV was barely known to the community—a fragile Omegle clone well-hidden in the mobile stores (got discovered in summer 2025)—and we bet all our influence on it in November 2023 and that's not something you can just walk away from...
After the ban, we decided to continue working to swap OmeTV and Omegle in a more effective way, that mission is considered concluded now. However, it will soon have been two years since the ban occurred, and there was still no communication nor good grounds for establishing it xDDDDD. The strongest players in this communication niche, who have been around each other for 5+ years, HAVE NEVER COMMUNICATED xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Nevertheless, we need to somehow leverage our position as Omegle's direct successor on the client side, and using it in OmeTV's favor is not something we can sustain for years while eating mivina...
