Another talent under AEW/ROH contract (Patreon)

A familiar face to AEW and ROH fans appears to be under contract.

Fightful Select spoke to AEW sources recently, who claimed to Sean Ross Sapp that Janai Kai was under contract to the company. Kai has regularly appeared on Ring of Honor since May 2026, where she’s competed against top talent such as Athena, Deonna Purrazzo, Mina Shirakawa, Billie Starkz, Maya World and Queen Aminata. Kai also wrestled in the original iteration of ROH back in 2021.

Kai worked in MLW for over a year and a half, becoming the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Champion, where she’s still the longest reigning champion of all-time.

We have not confirmed if it is a full-time or per appearance deal.

Kai made a number of appearances on AEW in 2021 and 2022, facing Jade Cargill, Athena and others.
