***Do you know what is gonna happen with the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel? Has there been any talks of rebranding it or is it just dead?
Absolutely jack shit as of right now. It's an almost worthless brand without Austin Creed in general. But without....any of the people that made it what it was? Come on now. That brand is as good as over.
What's the deal with Dakota Kai/Charlie? She waited a full year to only have 2 indie matches in the spring but nothing since. Is she waiting for a call from WWE or AEW? Or quietly retired? Full-time streamer now? You know of any interest from wrestling companies?
When I spoke to her rep almost a year ago, the initial plan was to go to Japan and re-establish her value instead of just signing with TNA or All Elite Wrestling. I'm not sure whatever happened to that, but that was the plan that they outlined to me. She's still very well liked in wrestling and I could see her getting chances somewhere.
Morning, SRS. Any word on Eddie Kingston. I read he was dealing with issues since he broke his leg, but he looked alright on Collision. Either way, I hope he is doing well.
I'm not sure what word you're looking for, but he's just still wrestling and had largely been de-emphasized since returning. I think he's under a lengthy deal, but it seems like his time in AEW has peaked. He still works Ring of Honor and he told me earlier this year that he's really been enjoying doing that, including teaming with Ortiz.
What happened to Frat House on ROH? "Ten" is back with Evil Uno's faction, and Griff Garrison was in a trios match with Aaron Solo on Collision
I think it had run its course. It wasn't getting a ton of traction outside of some heat spots. I had started to wonder if Jacked Jameson was still around, because he didn't wrestle in August, but then he showed up on ROH in September and lost to Matt Menard at those tapings. Cole Karter has been out of action for a while too handling some things.
Why does WWE use ropes while everyone else uses cables? Does this make it difficult for someone wrestling in nxt and tna?
It is simply a company preference thing. Although, the most standard ring setups are for cables as opposed to ropes. It's a significant difference. I've wrestled in rings with ropes, and I found that springboards were easier in some ways because you have the grooved traction there. However, the ropes are almost always a little looser than cables. I've worked with cables that have tape over them, and if not wiped down, they're really slippery. The ones in six sided rings were by far the tightest because of the short distance between buckles. Also, untaped cables (with some sort of hosing over it) gave me worse "rope burn" than any actual rope did.
hi Sean, I know you said AEW retained the rights to the Fight Forever game engine, but I read recently that 2K's deal with WWE might be coming up in the next year or two and I was wondering if you had any insight into that partnership and if AEW might be willing to partner up with 2K if WWE decides not to renew that deal? (I know the 2K games have their flaws but I'd love an AEW game with that much polish)
If they did, I would imagine 2K would have to help with a lot of the production costs of the game, and it would be an investment of a huge, multi-year partnership on their part. I always felt like AEW's approach was to produce one great game that lasted years and had updates. 2K's method is produce year over year. So something would have to give there. I don't expect there to be the possibility, as I think WWE and 2K will renew.
