Details on finish of Smackdown (Patreon)

The finish of WWE Smackdown was a confusing one.

During the Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn WWE Title match, challenger Kevin Owens didn't kick out after a belt shot. The ref counted to three but didn't call for the bell, leading to speculation that Owens forgot to kick out.

In speaking to WWE sources, they claimed that Owens was never supposed to kick out after the belt shot. The match was to end after that, but after the ref didn't call for the bell, the finish had to be changed.
