I recently randomly remembered the time the Highlanders got fired because one of them got caught on camera in the audience at a TNA show. seemed shitty then and even more shitty now. what do you recall about that incident and do you have any insight as to what happened to the Highlanders and why they never seemed to get another shot in the U.S.?

WrestleMania was in Orlando in 2008. Before the days of a million indie events around every WrestleMania, TNA held their tapings there that week. Orlando was their go-to spot, and Robbie McAllister attended the show. Why he didn't ask to go backstage, I don't know, but he was shown on TNA TV, with his real name on screen. It was a dumb move on Robbie's part and a dick move on TNA, who were doing anything for clout at that point. A WWE official called him and told him to leave. He was yanked from the WrestleMania battle royal and missed out on a $5,000 check. At that point, his tag team partner was injured, and they had already been jobbing out. He would lose a few singles matches, lose one more tag match upon Rory's return, and they were fired.

Where's Serena Deeb? I think the last time we saw her was when Britt Baker said "nobody cares" when she was starting a feud with her and that was it.

She's definitely been around since then. She wrestled on AEW Collision a number of times after that, and was popping up on Ring of Honor and winning here and there last year. She's not appeared since the Women's Pure Title Tournament in ROH. She wrestled one indie match earlier this year and otherwise has been home. She's still under contract. I don't know why she's not being used on ROH. She's perfect for that brand.

Is Ruby Soho still under contract with AEW? What’s her status?

Yes. Ruby Soho is still signed to All Elite Wrestling. She was backstage at least one time this summer and got cleared for an in-ring return. There were some creative pitches for her, but they didn't end up happening. I had heard at one point her husband's deal was close to coming up, but I don't know what happened with that since.
