Austin Creed and Kofi are on a New Level, and are in All Elite Wrestling for a long time.
Fightful Select reported that the duo were headed to AEW and they confirmed that they inked their deal the day prior to AEW All In. A lot of other elements of the deal have also come to light.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that Austin Creed and Kofi are under five-year contracts AEW. In addition, the creative was pitched to them well before a deal was nailed down, and the trio with Swerve was one of the opening ideas given to them.
AEW licensed “New Level” as a theme, but we’re told it wasn’t officially set until the day of AEW All In, as it had to get cleared by Sony. We’re told it’s pretty common for things with music rights to come down to the wire in situations like this.
New Level lost the Trios Titles this past week, which we’re told was never meant to be a long-term run. They were pitched on coming into AEW to work with Swerve Strickland however, who we’re told was a big part of the bridging the relationship between New Level and AEW initially, as Tony Khan wouldn’t speak with them until they were contractually free.
