Ruijerd I think sees himself in Paul and has so much he wants to say to his son but Ruijerd killed his son.

In one side we have Paul being really hard on Rudeus but understanding that he is just a child and is good for him to be alive. On the other side we the viewers know for a fact that Rudy is not a child. He is mentally older than Paul himself. That’s why he was depressed. Because the excuse of being a child and naive doesn’t apply to him. So we as the viewers expect for Rudy to handle things better. But at the end of the day he is just as immature as Paul. And that is a great thing with Mushoku. Normally people would think that being an adult = maturity. Unfortunately life is not that easy. So this work actually takes the time to make the characters flawed regardless of age. And that is really human. Paul in my opinion is the one that encompasses the concept of "people can change for the best" even if he is still flawed, he is a better person. The question of Paul being an alcoholic while taking care of Norn. Obviously is wrong. But he never did anything bad because of that or turned into a worst person because of that. He was just really desperate and frsutrated. And alcohol was the only way for him to keep going. Actually I think this is a sign that Paul has in fact changed. He just went to alcohol instead of just sleeping with women. This is skipped content, but it is said in the novel that he hasn't sleep with any woman since the Mana Cataclysm. Nor that he have any lover. The thing he was talking with Rudy at the end was having another child with Zenith or Lilia. Not with another woman. He just want his wifes and children back. So he have change for the better in my opinion.

The two girls wraped in towals in the flash back at start are the half naked girl and robed girl they sisters the show skiped over their backstory so here in short They are sisters they got teleported into dangerous teritory got captured by bandits and SA alot kept like pets by the bandits oaul rescued them the older one dresses like that to help her sister her sister has a panic attack if men stare at her so to protect her the older sister dresses provocative to draw mens atention away

Gees is the final member of pauls party The oarty being Paul main swordsman Zenith healer Gees rogue Alinalise warrior (warrior is a fighter who doesnt have formal training in any the sword styles swordsman have aura control to make faster and stronger but warriors never learned it ) the dearf guy i forgot his name (i think he the mage )

Public opinion on the Rudy and Paul fight was pretty much split from reactors and Anime Only's from what I remember. Both sides tended to reconsider their opinions for the most part after this episode, which is pretty interesting. I like how a solid argument can be made for either character being in the right or wrong. It makes the conflict more uncomfortable and gives the resolution more weight, like we are actually concerned about how the relationship will be mended after episode 16.

I think you jumped to the conclusion that Paul tried to have a child with another woman, but (as far as I can tell) that's not at all what's been implied here. After having Norn and Aisha, Paul didn't hook up with anyone else other than his two wives. I don't like when your negative view of a character bring you to automatically start making assumption of more bad behaviour, It looks like you're subconsciously trying to corroborate and validate your disliking of the character. I can understand not liking a character for something they did but, please, hate them for what they actually did and not for something you ASSUME they did. You're not the only one doing so, I'm not really blaming you in particular, I just find it sad that we, as humans, often make whole headcanon of other people or characters based only on a very partial knowledge of who they really are. I think it's a big part of how racism, war and hatred in general is born.

I haven’t gone thru the rest of the comments, but I’m sure someone had to explain that those girls were teleported and made into sex slave, and that is why the one sister dresses to have all men look at her, instead of her traumatized sister.
