I wasn't sure whether to post this or not since I'm a bit late watching this reaction but since Magane's powers is kind of confusing I thought I would write something here since even all the information is in this episode I don't think it's really a spoiler but for those who don't want the pretty confusing foreshadowing explained don't read the rest. The important thing to remember with Magane's powers is that she specifically can warp reality to make what other people say false. Whenever she interjects with something not directly responding to Sota she seems to be implying she is using her powers. This implies that these preceding statements from Sota are being made false. "Approval is the Key. Without the key, you won't be able to open the door." "You're right, I might be just like you, but there's no way... that something so shallow... something so superficial... would be able to stir people's hearts!" "You're not going to give up Hangaku." The third is the only one we see the immediate result of since Sota said she wouldn't do it she did and Hangaku returned. The other 2 statements are there to make it so that whatever Sota wrote will work regardless of approval. That's why after the 2nd she says "The thing you created will be set in motion now."

I can't believe I'm two episodes behind..........

Mat, I REALLY liked what you pointed out about the differences in food descriptions vs food tastes. Damn, that made a lot of sense!

I recalled this "crossover" HAVING to be canon to be fully accepted. If it were all just "What ifs" and side stories of alternate timelines and "promotional events," any number of fans could lose focus, tell themselves, " Well, I only stick with what is canon. I don't need to muddy the reality I enjoy so much." I say that as one of those people. I REALLY have a hard time embracing alternative takes on characters and worlds I greatly enjoy. It's a real shame because I cherish the concept of fan fiction, too. Unfortunately, I am a bit of a canon-nazi with stories I cherish. Now, if my game/novel/anime does go off the rails and has Ronald McDonald, Rosie O' Donelle, Noam Chomsky, and Rias Gremory team up to take down Robotnik and Gargamel, then I'll just have to follow along and see how I feel by the end. That can be acceptance in its own way. I could be mistaken, and I would have no reason to be upset.

WHOA. I seriously don't remember being so very down with Magane's whole spiel with Sota when I first watched this, but it all kinda meant something deep for me this time. How tf did the sociopathic teen girl who murders because it might have been fun, can't know until you do it, spits out some of the best bullshite in the series?!? I've always been fascinated by Fool's Gold, ever since I was like 5 years old. As I grew up, the ideas and ideals of "value" grew constantly sharper and murkier over and over and over again. To this day, I intensely value contradictory wants and needs, and I don't have any reasons to fight against them.

18:35 Mat, the title was really inverted here, right? No editing by you? If this was how this scene always ended.....magnificent.

Actually, I got so hyped for this video, I gotta go do something else to chill out before watching the next reaction. And this is a fucking anime I've already seen, but I'm enjoying it far more this time!!!
